Option C Printout Year

Hi all, quick question.

I ordered my option C print out a few weeks back and the only one that was available was for the 2010 year so I ordered that one. I am applying mid-April for CL sponsorship.. is it okay to send in 2010 one, or do I have to wait for the 2011 to become available?

I'm sending in the one from 2010 (Chinese equivalent). Surely CIC understand that 2011 hasn't been released, so what are you supposed to do? Not apply during this time of year?

That's my logic! I'm thinking writing a note to explain why its the 2010 one.

You should also include other documents such as: pay stubs, job offers in Canada, letter from employer, and a lengthy explanation detailing every possible thing you can think of...my strategy is to make them sick of reading all the supporting evidence and just issue the visa to get me out of their hair

Haha, sounds like my plan.. I am in Canada though, and I do have a job here.. My SO holds a multiple entry visitor visa so he is here with me!

The 2010 one is fine, since 2011 income tax isn't due yet. If the visa officer is looking over your file in the fall and decides he/she wants a 2011 Option C, he/she'll ask for it then. Very unlikely, though.

You'll have to file first before it's available... but after filing it's gonna take a while to get your notice of assessment and then for you to be able to request the option C plus then have to wait another 10 days or so for it to arrive. It definitely won't make it in time for you sending in your app.
I would send 2010 and then if they request 2011 later you can send it to them. highly doubt it though.

Howvever on applying from within Canada it says "for the most recent taxation year" that is the most recent that you have so you're in the clear.
I did notice though applying from within canada also states along with print outs of all income slips, T4's....

I just spoke with CRA.

After your file your taxes, it takes 2-4 weeks to process them with CRA. After that point you can request an Option C print out which takes 7-10 business days to be shipped to you.
