As also stated in the guide, apply with the current passport and write a letter of explanation why you can't renew it. Best to present a memo from the passport-issuing authority to prove that you cannot get a new passport within the 45-day period.

"Have you, your spouse or common-law partner, or any of your dependent children, already submitted or been included in an Application for
Permanent Residence to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC)?

Yes.

CIC File Number?"

1. I applied for PR under FSW in 2014 but my application package was returned for being incomplete, therefore it never made it to the actual processing stage or a visa office. And in the letter I received with the returned application, there was no mention of a CIC File Number. Does that mean they did not assign a file number to my application since it was incomplete? If there is a CIC file number, how am I going to find it if it was not in the letter they sent?

2. I withdrew my EE application this year like the rest of you to get a PT from Ontario. Would it be okay if I just enter the old EE profile number and ignore the 2014 application altogether?

Thanks

is there anyone who is submitting the application with birth certificate issued from Indian Consulate? I dont have a birth certificate and i m in US. so it is very difficult for me to visit India and get a birth certificate. Indian consulate in US issues one bt i read in some forums that certificates issued by indian consulates are not acceptable. any idea/suggestions?

Hey ppm...I have doubt on intention to reside in Ontario... do I need to declare in writing... the guide says that you need to provide a statement stating your reason to settle in Ontario...

Refer to page 16 of application guide. "Provide a copy of your birth certificate or an acceptable national document where an original birth certificate is not available (i.e., letter from appropriate government authority indicating why your birth certificate is not available)."

There are a couple of options here :
1) You must contact your Indian consulate and gather whatever you can and then provide a letter of explanation.
2) Contact your relatives back home and see if they can get one made locally and courier you in time.

Do we need to white-out our SIN# from the T4s when submitting?

I wouldn't advise that. Since you are submitting the documentation to a gov't agency you can leave it as it is. You don't want to give an impression that you are hiding something by not disclosing your SIN#

1)When you applied for FSW in 2014 for PR, did you do that through myCIC online portal ? If yes then there should be a online file number issued to you at the time of submitting an application. You should be honest and truthful about your application. If you can't find the number then say "Yes" you have applied but attach a letter of explanation saying " You cannot find the CIC file number or lost it or whatever ..."

2) You can enter your EE profile number but there is a separate question that asks you if you have applied for "Permanent Residency" , which refers to your questions 1

I initially read here that's why I thought I would ask. May be this is outdated, but it is still a federal document.

See page 3 of 5 under work experience in Canada.

Yup, saw that. Not sure if OOPNP app guide forgot to mention it knowingly or unknowingly..

Thanks Dilbert. There was no online application for FSW 2014 so I had physically mailed the application package. I will indeed attach a separate sheet and explain the situation.

Hello all,

A question regarding settlement funds section of the application form. The guide document (section 3.4) states that those who doesn't have a bank account in Canada it is required to provide six months of original up-to-date bank statements from a recognized financial institution. However, the application form (section J - Checklist, V - Settlement Funds) says that one must provide a current bank certification letter or an evidence of savings balance or a fixed or time deposit statements.
Do I get it right that a bank statement and a bank certification letter is not the same thing? What should an applicant provide in the end?
And regarding the bank statements: my bank provides those in electronic form, i.e. PDFs that I can print. Is that OK to provide printed electronic statements?

Thank you all in advance.

My bank told me that they also need the recipient address while making the bank draft. I am making it in favor of Ontario Minister of Finance for 1500$. What address shall I use ? :'(
