Guys is the french stream still open? Did anyone receive any PT in the last month or so?

Hello Aal,
I've received PT on the 15th Aug. It doesn't specifically mention the French stream, but I guess it must be so. I have French as my primary language with CLB 10 and the human capital stream is closed.

Thank you for your reply. Should I put French as my primary language then? I have the following:

French:
Speaking: CLB9
Listening: CLB9
Reading: CLB8
Writing: CLB7

English:
Speaking: CLB10
Listening: CLB10
Reading: CLB10
Writing: CLB9

Do it asap. If you do not get a PT soon, recreate your profile making French as your primary language.

since English has better scores, no, it's not a must for French to be your primary language, you just need French that's all

Hello Aal,
You will get more CRS points with English as your 1st language.
The guide just says that you need to have at least CLB 7 in French and at least CLB 6 in English (among others) to qualify for the French stream.

Maybe you can try to create 2 profiles in Express Entry one with English as primary language and the other with french as primary language. You can then see whichever profile gets a PT from Ontario first. Just make sure to withdraw the redundant profile, once you get the PT.

I don't believe I can create 2 profiles. I'm now at 445, if I put French as first I will go down to 420. Maybe I should try it after Wednesday, noone knows what the cut off would be this coming draw.

Thanks.

I had 2 profiles as well and I just remembered to withdraw one when I read your post :)

2 profiles are illegitimate

Below scenario is very much legal and permitted:

Scenario 1: EE profile 1
1. Husband - Principal Applicant
2. Wife - Dependent
3. Kid - Dependent

Scenario 2: EE Profile 2
1. Wife - Principal Applicant
2. Husband - Dependent
3. Kid - Dependent

A couple can have both profiles but need to withdraw the other profile as soon as they receive an ITA in one profile.

Any idea if Ontario will open nominations again in November, and will it have same criteria i.e. above 400 points in human priority scheme.

I missed out last time because of my agent... Angry

Yes.. This works, you even needn't draw the second if the first got invited

I don't see the point. Whoever has the highest points will be the PA. Why does anyone need a second profile with spouse as PA?

You are spot on and I agree with it. However, I just wanted to share that this scenario is also possible.
The profile with less points obviously makes no sense to be in the pool.

it makes sense in cases like when your NOC for ex. is not in demand in some province but your spouse's is, this way you can apply to ON (with the high CRS) while spouse can apply to SK or NB
