You will get it soon.

If you have shown enough funds to support them in Canada, Then there's no reason to refuse them. My wife and child were approved after receiving news of my approval, so don't worry. Hope this helps.

thanks a lot that's a relief but how long do they take. mine was approved on 16th july. i was worried whether they don't send any separate information about accompanying dependents.

Well my application took so long. I applied in London, UK, which has a average time frame of processing visas in 8 - 10 weeks. My whole application decision was made in 13. I never got notification that mine was done until I made a case specific inquire and they told me that mine was processed and currently processing my spouse's. I believe they finished mine first than worked on my wife's application. I think it took 2 weeks of processing.

Hi Doda, how much in CAD funds did you provide for the 3 of you?

Hi starlettedouze, I showed enough to cover 11k for my wife and 5k for my child for one year. I showed a scholarship grant from the University.

Hi Doda,

At least i was lucky enough in my case they processed mine in a week's time despite the strike. But i can't make travel plans without knowing the status of my family. I have shown CAD 34K which includes half the funds with me and other half from my mother. Plus job offer from the university along with annual grant.

Can you tell me where to make case specific queries.

You can make case specific quires by going to the link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/apply-where.asp and select your country then you will see a page where you will get a link which starts with dmp....

Should be fine. Just wait as they process your dependents application. if your funds were approved in your application then there no reason to refuse your spouse and kids unless there is something major like medical or security problem.

Thanks, Doda. Just wanted to get your opinion - we have met the minimum requirement of CAD 17k for the 3 of us. My mother will fund my studies and will provide accommodation. She has provided financial docs as well. Do you think that will suffice?

Your welcome starlettedouze, Usually more than the minimum is better. If your child will be attending a public funded school hopefully it will be OK.
