Firslt of all I would like apologise for initiating this query once again....but believe me its the last time.........

My situation: I am on ICT visa employed with Indian IT company and working on a client location where my employer has been chosen as a vendor to provide IT services....My employer has placed me as a consultant to provide the IT services......

My employer (Indian IT company) has provided me with the reference letter which covers my designtion, time of employment, hours, salary, benefits, roles and responsibilities etc...(basically everything that CIC asks for)....

Now my query is that should I add a letter from my client which basically will have the same information (other than salary details) i.e. Role and responsibilities, hours, designtion and duration.....

I have read in some threads that VO asked for letter of reference from the clients but it was cases where the person was employed through an agency.....but in my case I am employed through an organization which has presence accorss the world....

This is my final query and I will be submitting my letter soon....Thanks for everything.....

If you are reporting to a manager from your own company, a reference from ur company should do fine and preferably from ur reporting manager

however if u r sub- contracted and you report ur status to the client, u would be asked to provide client letter

From reporting perspective...I am reporting to a client person....The letter I have received from my employer (indian IT comanpy) has been signed by the HR Manager.....

I would say if u can get 1, add it to ur file list and explain that in the cover letter

CIC may request you this at a latter stage, if they feel ur hr may not be the best person to access ur roles and responsibilities.

I agree with what is said in the above post. A reference from a Canadian company is very important for the application.

My friend , If IT company is only in India and you are deputed to client Location , Then it make sense to have Canadian client reference letter , but if your Indian IT company also has its own Canadian Operations and has office in Canada than your IT company with Canadian Address will suffice the needs.

Thanks for the comments...and Gurindar..to answer to your point...my company does have presence in Canada but since its a Services company and not a produc company....they do not have many offices here in Canada....They do have presence and have few offices.....

And since my Manager (from client side) is kind enough to give me that letter...I think I should add it to my file just to make it crystal clear for the VO......My only concern was that if the VO starts going into the details of getting the contract copies between my company and client...the situation may become a little tricky.....But I dont think that it will reach that point as I am getting letters from both the parties (My company and my client) and it should be fine (keeping my fingers crossed)......Thanks guys once again.......

Your Take man , I am also from Indian IT company and We don't have too many offices in Canada as its a service based company and Employees mostly work at client side . To me the company which provides you T4,Salary Slips , the Reference letter will suffice from them . As it worked for everyone in my company . Best of luck.

ABS_1382,

Don't mess up your application by providing a reference letter from Client, CIC is not concerned about your client, just provide the employment reference from your company(Indian IT Company based in Canada). As long as your employment reference has Canadian address, that should be fine.

Hi

If your company has no offices in Canada then how are you being paid? Who is supplying pay stubs? Who is providing T4’s? Are you submitting tax returns?

Thx

If you provide the a letter from the Client, then CIC may try to access what relationship you have with your client with regard to your work status. They may call up your client as well which may delay in processing your application.

So to cut the long story short, follow the CIC Document checklist guidelines.

Thanks and agreed Boss.....I will not submit the client letter.....This forum has made the life easy for so many people.....

Thanks to all of you guys......Will soon be submitting my file......Thanks once again.......
