very soon!!
Hi everyone! As I am getting ready to send our application, I'd like to make sure that I have everything....I've read the guides so many times, verified everything over and over.....but when you are too much into it, you can't see things that have been left out or forgotten AND...I would not want to see our file delayed because of a missing document! :( We've known each other for a VERY long time!!!! It's now time to be together in the same country!!
Can someone have a look and tell me if I have everything?

I am sponsoring my Algerian husband who is outside Canada: (no dependants, no representative).

My forms:
-IMM5491
-IMM1344
-IMM5481
-IMM5540
+birth certificate, Option C forms, copy of passport, letter of employer, all kinds of evidence (letters, skype log, emails, phone bills, etc.)

His forms:
-IMM0008
-IMM5669
-IMM5406
-IMM5490
-IMM3912
+birth certificate, passport, 8 photos, police certificate and clearances, medical exam (the form with the picture signed by the doctor)+all kinds of evidence proving our relationship is a genuine one.

Am I forgetting anything??
Thanks a bunch in advance!! Good luck to all who are submitting their files now, hoping everything will go smooth and fast!!!! ;)

Are you forms the most up to date? Some of the new forms are July 2012.

I've taken the forms from the CIC website! Is there a place where I could find the most recent ones or do I just assume that they are all updated? How can I find that out? Thanks for raising the question! At the bottom of some forms it's April 2012 but some others are older! :(

Whatever you get off of the website as of 'today' is the most up to date forms. I did an outland application, and it looks like some of your forms were different from mine. If I recall correctly, IMM 1344 is July 2012, and IMM 008 is July 2012, and I think there may be one more that was updated (perhaps just the document checklist). IMM 5490 is as old as 2008 I believe - so some do not get updated to the same degree as the others I guess.

What if you sent your application back in April 2012? Would they still request for the latest forms? I've already been approved as my wife's sponsor and my wife's e-cas shows 'in process'...

Thanks,
FS

FS,

I don't know too much about this. The only 'deadline' I know about is the changeover from July 2011 forms to February 2012. As of February 2012 new forms were published (with bar codes), and the latest those forms could be used was March 31 2012. In terms of after that point in time, I have absolutely no idea. There hasn't been anything on cic.gc.ca.

On another note. My application was sent in the first time July 3 (part of it sent back), I re-did it all and re-sent it on August 7 2012 (arriving the 8th), and I just got my AOR 20 minutes ago!!! I had the February 2012 forms in my package.

I guess if they updated the forms AFTER sending in the older ones, it should be fine. If it wasn't, I don't think they would have approved me as my wife's sponsor / started processing my wife's application at the VO.

Besides, how could I have submitted the latest forms when I sent everything in the middle of April? Impossible. So I guess they accept the older forms (well, the newest forms before the July update).

We'll find out soon enough...

Congrats on the AOR!

The best feeling is seeing a new status on e-cas. I can't wait until it shows 'decision made' or my wife gets a letter requesting her passport!!! Soon...I can feel it in me bones...

FS,

I think in their initial check, they ensure forms are most up to date. So I would probably just breath easy in regards to that.

Since you are more experienced - what does AOR mean in reference to Sponsorship approval, are they close to each other in time?

Also, I tried logging into ecas with an AOR, I assume AOR is not important enough, because it wouldn't log me in :(

AOR simply means that they acknowledge receipt of the application. Usually AOR is followed by approval within a few days, and it also means (usually, anyway) that they have started processing the file.

Congrats! Approval is around the corner!

YES!!! That would make me feel so wonderful after all the mud I have been dragged through :)

Gud Luck...... Send it soon.. :) :) :) :)
