I am tired of this. We are applicants, now prisoners.

If staying here won't give u a job and PR, I 'd rather leave.

did any one through PhD stream get phone calls and emails?

I submitted mine (PhD without job offer) in late June. So, as many of us did it from that time on, I haven't even got my AOR yet after almost 4 months waiting..

I am under PhD stream and got calls.

But I applied early April and got AOR before they hold everything.

Thanks for the information....

Guess I have no other options but wait.....

I have a feeling that they will delay it until the lauch of EOI, then all of us will be in the pool.

They can grade us and rank us and give us PPR based on the score, like Australia and NZ.

Due the poor economy of Canada recently, staying here is most probably meaning without a decent job for another year.

Eoi is entirely different stream than pnp. They cannot change our stream. Its same as putting someone from pnp to CEC.
The thing which confuses my mind is that now ontario applicants are not getting AOR which is really dangerous

Does that mean that they will cut the program just like FSW back in 2008?

Then the logic confusing me is how can ON PNP office still accept applications and state that the program is not changed.

If yes, they will lose all their credits and no one will believe in provincial office anymore.

Then maybe they will do it moderately like u are granted nomination. But if before PPR, u have not found a job then you will be denied PPR.???

They cannot cut the program until they pass a new bill from parliament just like FSW pre 2008 applicants. I don't think they will do this for few thousands applicants in processing....
They might cut/change this program for future applicants like for Alberta PNP program for US H1B holders. In that case they clearly indicated that they would not entertain applications in this category post marked after some date of 2010

PNP CPP-Ottawa was anticipating a delay in QA project as Ontario were advertising and hiring new officers for this program a while back ago. It was difficult for them to predict time for very first batch of applications. That is why they indicated in the letter for additional docs

"We regret to inform you that we are unable to provide a precise estimate of the additional time required to process your application"

Furthermore, selection criteria cannot be changed in the middle of processing and it would be the same when you applied for PNP otherwise it would lead to discrimination...

Keep your hopes high and give CIC two months more as we know they have queue for every stage of processing. Hopefully we all see positive outcome.

I dont think so, applications are never processed in terms of province they belong to. It depends on date they are received and additional documents received. That is why you wiuld observe that in process and decision made are according to dates received.
The only thing I fear is of new candidates who have been waiting for 4 months now and cic has not accepted their applications which is a serious issue

First, it was the 280,000 Federal Skilled Worker applicants, most of them from Africa and Asia, whose files were terminated. Next, it was the 50,000 plus Federal Investor applicants, most of them from China, whose files were terminated. It appears that live-in caregivers are next in line...

PR is just a illusion. You think u can pass the hurdle of not being discriminated and find a job here after u got a PR.

It is not what I saw. I have a PhD fellow who has PR for 7 years and his wife is already a citizen now.

Still, he can't find a formal and long-term job for two years after graduation.

Is all that the problem of status?

Sorry to be late gambler. I am counting everyday i have been so frustrated, its taking forever. I have not understood much out of gcms notes. Regarding my criminality the notes say i have passed it and that no additional docs required at this time. I have checked my gcms notes alot of time i do not see any hold written anywhere. I am not familiar with your news about new immigrants but im telling you they cannot stop it.
