Not necessarily.

Hi everyone,
I’m a somali Canadian living in Quebec, and I’m sponsoring my wife from Somaliland (northern Somalia) thru the Dar Salam office. Here is our timeline.

1. We received xxx application for permanent residence on April 26, 2016.
2. We started processing xxx application on July 6, 2016.
3. Medical results have been received.

few questions
when should i order my GMCS notes and has anyone (on this forum) been transfered to DS visa office?
until now i havent received any document request, and most ppl receive dcmnt request few days after the file is transfered. so does that mean that i have sent a full application?

thanks in advance for answering my questions ;)

Come join the Dar Es Salaam thread :) We are a small but supportive group.

I ordered my notes shortly after it was transferred to Dar but there was no helpful info. It's only $5 so not a big investment if there is nothing. Dar doesn't seem to even look at your file for several months after the transfer so don't expect to hear anything for awhile. My husband just recieved his passport request 7 months after we applied and that's about as fast as I have seen. Anymore questions, just ask. Good luck!

Hi MNM2015, ohh maan 7 months b4 ppr it's terrible. Since march we haven’t seen each other (i had taken her to Addis Ababa for her med exam). I must confess that missing my wife is one of the most hurt feeling I’ve had in my life.

The only thing that I'm sure about is being away from the person you love and knowing your future with this person is in others people hands is TERRIBLE. Now I'm in Canada and she is in Somaliland wondering for the day we be together again. The application visa is in their hands and all I say is I have to wait. Days are hard without my wife, nights even more harder. Hope that everybody who is in this situation gets to be with the partners... I believe that in the end true love wins.

7 months is actually a lot faster than it used to be ;)

Still sucks though.

I'm on month 6 and was last in Indonesia at the end of March.

@ImABule, ohh i hoped you enjoyed your trip last march. I sure as hell did. In one month, it's our anniversary (sept 7), i wont be there for her, last Eid i wasnt there for her, and again i wont be able to celebrate the next Eid with her eithe, and worst, her birthday is in Dec. Now you see why I find 7 months a lot ;P

Assalamu-alaikum brother,

We vacationed in Bali, definitely enjoyable :P

Yes, it is still way too long bro. Feel your pain.

Insha Allah your wife will be here with you soon.

I, like so many others on this forum, completely understand how you feel. It is much too long to be apart from someone you love. We have a son who is almost a year old and it's heartbreaking for him to have spent most of his first year away from his daddy. Even though we have received the passport request it won't be returned in time for my husband to be here for his first birthday :(

The unknown is the worst part for me. Not being able to make plans for your future. Not knowing if he will be here in a month, a year or even longer. Hearing heartbreaking stories of people being denied and spending years appealing and wondering if that will happen to you. I could handle the waiting better if there was a date I knew he would be here by.

Like ImABule said 7 months is pretty good for Dar. People who applied last year were waiting over a year. They seem to be speeding up so hopefully yours will be even faster. Just pray that you do not have an interview as that is what really slows the process down.

hahaha,
I saw my wife last January 2014 imagine the cries and lonely nights..

we ll all reunite with our spouses soon IJN

Why haven't you visited?

And why file the app so long from last visit??

I've visited 3 times in the past year and will go back soon if they don't give the visa

@Imablue,
we are always denied or refused visa from this part of the world (Nigeria).
well it is said we ll reunite soon though I applied in November 2015 and now 9 months waiting for ppr.

My husband was in the same situation...we applied for TRV twice and refused both times....at least the immigration officer was clear in his reasons the second time so basically we knew that he would never get TRV....

I was lucky enough to be able to leave Canada and go stay with him while we waited for his application to be processed. It meant putting my career on hold but it was worth it. Perhaps your spouse can come and visit? But I know it is expensive.

Soon hopefully you will receive good news.

C.
