Hi seniors,

My celpip score(CLB Level) in
Reading-8,
Listening-10,
Speaking-7,
writing-6

and score for express entry is 404

Am I eligible for OINP ?

I currently live and work in Canada on work permit.

Should I Submit my profile..?

One more question...!
I did 4 years bachelor of Pharmacy from India. Does it count as in professional degree needed to practice in licensed profession ??
If so, would I get additional 7 points towards my profile ??

Please advise ASAP.

Thanks in advance.
Samip.

Mr. Samip Thakkar,

No, the minimum requirement for OINP EE is 7 CLB, so certainly you are not qualified for that, and Yes, You can claim for your pharmacy degree points as a professional degree, and you will get points for that but you need to have your evaluation done by PEBC, if its done by WES then it will be considered as a normal bachelor degree and you might be loosing points for that...!!!

Thank you so much.

Could you send me the link that says your pharmacy degree should assessed by PEBC body only to claim extra points or something related to that.

Because in the following link it only says it should be assessed by WES

www .cic. gc. ca /english /immigrate/skilled/eca -conversion.asp

Thanks

As a pharmacist and just by ECA report issued by PEBC, you can claim points for "pharmacy as a professional degree" , you dont need work experience in pharmacy field...!! And if you dont want to claim points for "professional degree" then you can evaluate through WES...!!

I understand..but, from where you read that..?
Is there any official website says like that..?
Because I called WES guys and they were not sure about that..?
And in CEC web site it says

For Express Entry, we only accept professional degrees in these fields:

medicine,
veterinary medicine,
dentistry,
podiatry,
optometry,
law,
chiropractic medicine, or
pharmacy.
ECA assessment results:

Pharmacy

Five or more years of professional university study in pharmacy
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree
Four-year Bachelor of Science degree with a focus in pharmacy

Where it says it should only be done by "PEBC" body..?

Thank you

Go to "designated bodies for ECA" section under ECA main topic...!! There they have clearly mentioned that for physician its MCC, While for pharmacist " in the profession where licence is required (eg pharmacy)" you have to submit your PEBC evaluation report, while in the profession where you dont need licence you can go to WES for evaluation...!! But in the Education section of EE they are saying "degree required to enter into a licences profession" (in future and if you are claiming points for) you should go to PEBC just to make sure whether the degree is compatible in Canada or not...!! And that's why there is a organization in Canada called PEBC to evaluate "professional degree" otherwise it should have been a "WES" Only...!! And one more point, if you want to enter into a Licenced profession then you can present WES ECA to then, so its obvious you have to go through PEBC in order to get points for that...!!!

It is all clear buddy.

You are right. I could get 7 extra points if I done evaluation by PEBC body.

Thank you very much for your help.

Good Luck.

Go to PEBC if you want to practice in Canada. If all you're looking for is CRS points (AND do not intend on practicing after moving to Canada), any other designated agency's assessment would suffice.
