The application is yours, buddy. I don’t recommend leaving everything for your lawyer to handle. Usually, they have many applications to take care of, so if something happens, you can anticipate it and avoid delays.

Fair point.. for some reason when I tried linking the application to my GC account, the system wouldn’t get any details to match.. should I call IRCC and change contact details for the application so that I can link it to my account?

I pretty much applied in Jan 25, got my AOR within a few weeks, biometrics in March, got my TRP open work permit in September, medical done third week dec25.. now just waiting for next step but don’t know what it might be…
