Hi @legalfalcon,

Is the EE application processing timeline different for PNP nominated candidates?
I read so in one of the blogs online.
EE has different programs under which an applicant can qualify to become a PR. They FSW, CEC, PNP, FST. However, the processing of all the applications under these programs do differ and vary. However, as per the 2019 report the processing time for PNP and FSW was same.

The IRCC 2019 annual reports has published the most recent trends.

<https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/express-entry-year-end-report-2019.html>

How long did it take to process an Express Entry application?
Table 35 displays the time, in months, that IRCC took to process 80% of applications under each program. In 2019, IRCC did not meet the processing standard of finalizing 80% of all applications sourced via Express Entry within six months. The processing time for Express Entry, overall, was eight months. As an alternative measure of processing times, 60% of applications finalized in the 12-month period ending on December 31, 2019, were completed within the six-month service standard.

Table 35: Processing Times for Express Entry applications finalized by year and immigration category, in months
Program201720182019
Canadian Experience Class457
Federal Skilled Worker469
Provincial/Territorial Nominee669
Federal Skilled Trades6712
All Programs558

Subsequent to this, IRCC also published the evaluation of Express Entry upon the completion of 5 years of express entry in May 2020. A lot of recommendation have been made in it.

How are these checks done and what authorities are involved ? As per my understanding:
R10 (completeness check) - This is application based
Medicals - this is already done upfront
Criminality - Hw is this done ? I have submitted a clear PCC for India . Is more checks required ? what authorities are involved?
Eligibility - This is application based n cross check of whatever is submitted like work ex and relatives in canada etc.
Security - is this relate to proof of funds ?
anyone ??

Category: FSW
ITA: 8th July
AOR: 1st Oct
Medical and PCC : Given upfront
Biometrics: Had submitted last year during Temporary visa issue so I guess they will not need it again.

No update since submission on 1st Oct. I know its a little early to ask for update but views on timeline / experience of people would help.
Please share experiences in terms of time lines.
Hey everyone,
I had got biometrics done in 2019 for TRV while visiting to Canada. Do i need to get biometrics done again for express entry application ? As far as I remember the VFS office people told me that my biometrics are valid for 10 years.
Can anyone confirm ?

WHAT IF ONE RECEIVES BIOMETRICS REQUEST LETTER AND ALL THE VAF'S/VAC'S IN THE COUNTRY ARE CLOSED. CAN THE PERSON GET BIOMETRICS DONE FROM THE NEAREST COUNTRY WHERE VFS/VAC'S ARE OPEN OR IS IT NECESSARY TO GET THEM DONE FROM SAME COUNTRY. AND DOES IT AFFECTS GETTING PASSPORT STAMPED FOR ANY OTHER COUNTRY FOR EXAMPLE (TOURIST VISA FOR GETTING BOIMETRICS DONE) OR SHOULD ONE REFRAIN FROM IT TILL GETTING PPR??

You can get the biometrics done any any country where the offices are open. For your country if the offices are closed, see page 1 of the thread for more details.

R10 is done at the central intake office to ensure that an application is complete and if there is any thing that is missing has an explanation.
To read on stages of an application see https://bit.ly/34t8vfn

Medicals: They are submitted to the Regional Medical Officer who make a decision and give a grade to the medical record see https://bit.ly/34sj4iU

Criminality: It is based on PCC, FOSS check, RCMP and info sharing

Eligibility - Done at CPC or LVO. Is the most important stage.

Security - Starts only after completion of eligibility. CBSA / CSIS can be involved. To read on security and the security screening manual, see https://bit.ly/3juLwos
