you r wrong my frnd. people claimed cerb even though they werent qualified. they just took it as a loan (at the peak of COVID) which gets clearly reflected in a bank statement. its a LOAN is wrongfully claimed. it is INCOME only if rightfully claimed. If it is wrongfully claimed (LOAN) it will get deducted from their savings, because they are bound to return it while filing their 2020
tax ...
also ircc can make a simple call to CRA with you SIN in hand (SIN is mentioned in ban details) to verify whether he/she met the CERB eligibility

CREB is neither a loan and neither it is a final assistance. IRCC has already cleared that:

How financial benefits affect family sponsorship
If you collect the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB), you’re still eligible to sponsor your spouse, parent, grandparent, child or other relative as long as you meet all the requirements to be a sponsor.

CERB isn’t considered social assistance. Collecting CERB won’t make you ineligible to sponsor.
It is income, which you have to claim in your taxes for 2020. If anyone who claimed CERB and was not eligible, will have to repay it back.

Now as regards IRCC getting info from CRA. No agency can divulge information to another federal agency unless expressly authorised by the individual. This is why when a citizenship application is filed, for which one of the requirements is to show tax returns for the last 3 years, as a part of the application, you have to file an authorisation to release, without which IRCC cannot verify your details from CRA.

Further, people who received CERB are allowed to sponsor parents, grandparents and spouses, even if they meet the income requirement only with CERB. See https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/immigration-applicants.html

However, at the end it is your application, your decision and your interpretation.

All the best!

You are saying it yourself, but still don't understand my point "If anyone who claimed CERB, and was not eligible, will have to repay it back " - my friend, if a person has been claiming CERB wrongfully from the past 4-6 months (gathered 8,000-10,000 CAD) and showed it as POF, how can it be accepted as POF XD [If I have CERB reflected in my bank statements, I strongly believe it is my duty to make it very crystal clear that I claimed it rightfully (such as my job was lost or my working hours were reduced and I had an income of atleast 5000 CAD in 2019), and didn't took it as a LOAN from CRA when COVID hit, as thousands of Canadians took it as a LOAN from CRA when COVID came].
As a fSW, you have to show PoF, and one of the requirements of PoF is that you have an average balance requirement of 6 months. i.e. the funds should have been in your account for at least six 6 months. IRCC has this requirement to ensure that the funds are not borrowed. Unless you show gift deed or another source, to over come the 6 months average balance, it is mandatory to meet the requirement.

Assuming that someone who was not eligible claimed CERB, which started in March end, the applicant had to show that he has the entire PoF for at least the last 6 months. So not sure how someone who claimed CERB starting in March end will show PoF just by using CERB and meet the 6 months average requirement. This is the point. Also, CERB is taxable since it is income. Everyone who claimed CERB will have to pay tax on it by showing it as income in the 2020 tax returns.

As always, it is your application. You know best.

Hi Folks,
Is there anyone who has AOR in Oct and is FSW (PNP) category? Just wanted to check how much time does it take for medical results confirmation.
My AOR date is 5th Oct and medical was upfront.

The medicals are usually passed within 30-45 days. However, the deceasing factors is when your panel physician transmitted the medical file to IRCC. It will reflect on your MyCIC account

Just wanted to ask: in the education portion it says the requirement for proof of degree is such as diploma or transcript of records. Since my original diploma is missing and my official transcript of records was sent by the institution directly to WES, can I instead submit the ECA file that WES generated (proof of Canadian degree equivalence)? Will IRCC accept this or do I really need to attach the actual diploma?

IRCC specifically asks for a copy of the diploma, they already have access to your ECA.

Your original diploma is more important for IRCC than WES ECA, because you already provided ECA issue date and #. But, of course, it's just better to attach diploma + ECA in Education section.

You will have to ask your physician when your medical report was transmitted.
On the day of medical test, I was told it takes 3-4 working days to send file to Embassy. So, last week by Thursday or Friday, it would have reached. Let's see. I will wait till 31st Oct as medical test happened on 3rd Oct. Thanks for sharing the information :)
