Hi Everyone,

I just downloaded the latest version of the IMM0008 Generic Application form, and I cross checked it against the form that I submitted (which was the version -IMM0008- 06/2014)

There's no additional information asked on the 11/2014 form that's not already in the 06/2014 version of the same.

Since we're all wondering whether our applications will be sent back or they'll ask for a copy of the latest form, they probably wont since there's no new info! Fingers crossed!

Someone else please double check this!

Good luck to you all!
I looked too, I saw no difference, not even in the fine print. I wonder what the change was?

Okay, I'm off the phone with CIC. Oddly, my application was assigned to the Ottawa office (as it should be, since I currently reside in Canada), so there was no obvious explanation for why I received the inland sponsorship AOR. The nice agent marked the application for a follow-up from CIC, and said that I should call back if I haven't heard by the end of the month.
Hi Majromax,

I have called CIC for 3 times since I received the wrong AOR. The first time I called they said my application was being marked as inland and the agent sent an email to Mississauga regarding that mistake. I called 2 times after that but each time the agents told me there hadn't been any update regarding that email the first agent sent. I don't really know what to do. I'll just call them every week to see if the mistake has been fixed and my application has been processed as outland. I'm also US citizen living in Canada right now.

Yes I applied as Outland, and instead of going to sydney it stayed in Mississauga. Possibly because my case was as straight forward as they come, maybe because the sydney VO was slammed
Hello @ Annaj,

When you say your case was straightforward, what do you mean? I have not received anything from CIC, and it has been 45 days since I submitted my application. I have lived in canada for over 8 years. First as a student, then as a worker for 3 years. Do you think that constitutes as straightforward?

Also, when you say decision made, do you mean you have received your PR?

The November 2014 version of the IMM0008 Form does not require you to specify which Visa Office should process your application.

 Thank you, good eye! I wonder if they will actually require us to update our forms for that? Time will tell ::)

Well, they've been sending quite a few outland applications to random visa offices anyway, so it looks like with the updated form they're covering their asses. You can't choose, so we'll do as we see fit.

It's from a British show called Little Britain -you either love it or you hate it- The full clip is called Carol Beer- Old man and it's on YouTube... it just reminded me of CIC and what I'd reaaaally like to tell them, ha!

What kind of wrong advice did they give you?
thanks I watched a little bit this morning and ;D so funny.

My oath ceremony was 7 days after the exam.
I lost my CoPR but had copies,PR card, csq, custom form and immigrant visa. So I called CIC to know what should I do regarding my oath ceremony. A lady named Claire told me not to attend the ceremony and instead to send them a letter explaining that I decided not to attend due to missing CoPR. And since replacement of CoPR takes 6 months, she said to ask in my letter to be rescheduled for the oath in 6 months...
But when I told her that I was thinking of going and explaining my case to the citizenship officer, she lost it.
She became so rude and arrogant. She said "you know what? Do whatever you want.If you want to spent your money on gas by going there, suit yourself. I am giving you good advice and you decided to ignore it. Go ahead."
I was totally shocked. I didn't want to enter in a fight, so I said "thank you very much for your help".

I went to the oath ceremony, explained the problem and ...I became Canadian.
I wasn't the only one who lost the CoPR. The Officer advised us to apply for a new one for future pension.

I am so happy that I decided to listen to myself.
