Hi Everyone,

I am waiting for my oath letter and already had my test and interview a few months ago.
My question is that my PR card is expiring in two and a half months. Should I extend my PR card? If yes then how long that takes and would that affect my current application of Citizenship?

Any reply would be highly appreciated.
Do you need it for traveling? If not there is no need to renew it.

So, many people here got their DM. Congratulations.
Pray for us as I got really upset. It is since Feb. 11th and test invite. What are they doing over there? Really frustrating particularly if you have to do many things conditioned one has to get his citizenship.

No one knows how long it will take. Many people here are waiting for DM and many others are yet to have their oath date. You can renew you PR Card but its not necessary to do that if you are not planning to travel.

No, it can be negative as well, but you'll know when to expect a negative decision. If the application is smooth sailing (no additional document requests, no hearings with the CJ), then it's almost always positive assuming you satisfied the minimum criteria.

Well if its negative won't it be suspended or onhold instead of DM?
Also if there is something wrong with the application we would have a hearing with a citizenship judge before they have a decision, I mean they cannot make a decision without hearing in front of judge.

I updated my previous response with a bit more info.

So it goes to say that there would be a hearing or additional docs before DM if its negative? By the same assumption if there is no additional docs requested or no interview with CJ scheduled then a DM means positive?
