Got an email at 7:56 pm PST! RPFR Request!

I did my medicals today in Vancouver. :)

It's a matter of weeks now for some of us, I think!

For the rest of you, we're here to support you through the wait.

Question (that I am sure has been answered) - when I get the passport request, what happens next? I'm living in Vancouver. Do I need to mail it still, or can I land shortly after?

So Excited! Congrats to the other person who got the email today!

ECAS Status changed to "In Process"

1.We received your application for permanent residence on October 4, 2013.

2.We started processing your application on April 15, 2014.

3.Medical results have been received.

oh btw, which doctor did u go to.
does it matter? like would some doctors process the reports more quickly, while others leave the reports sitting on their desks for a while before sending it back to CIC?

they are still working at this hour of the day?!!!! :o ;D

Can you please share what kind of questions an officer asked you?

Hey! I can't post the name of the doctor online...believe it or not, there are laws about that - I (Canadian partner of applicant) have a chronic illness, and talk a lot on online forums. This is actually one of the basic things they make you promise before joining the group!!

However, I can tell you this: The doctor was male, and the cheapest in Vancouver. He was closer to the western end. Call around. :) Hope this helps! I want to help you, and I hope that's enough info to connect you! My partner said the experience was fast and good. So, if you call a few people based on this info, I am sure you'll be connected to the same doctor.

What are the steps from here? I'm a bit confused. Does my partner need to mail her passport when she gets the request (she is from France, but lives in Vancouver)?
What's the processing time like?
I am sure that's a basic question, but I looked and couldn't find answers.

RPRF yesterday at 9.30 am.
Thank you for a smooth processing

Yes she will send her passport after she receives the passport request.
After medical your passport request may come within 1-3 weeks.
Once passport request comes, you send the passport, in another 1 week you will get it back with PR visa.
Then you go to a border office, and use this PR visa to become a Permanent Resident.

:)
