Only Name change Affidavit (applicable in my case) was sent in orignal. Rest all documents were printed and self attested before mailing them to BLS. Hope this answers your query.

I finally received OCI. although I did not pay for the courier back -
call them - probably they will send an email with payment link and shipping label will be generated. BLS customer service phone number for your place of submission will be available in their website.
Hello, tried searching some old replies to this thread but didn’t get much clarity. I’m applying for an OCI and have misplaced my COPR which apparently is needed to proceed with the application according to BLS (Vancouver). I’ve been told to get my PR points card (can’t access the PR portal anymore) or a Verification of status from IRCC (I’ve just completed this form and will be mailing this in but called IRCC and was told there’s an 18 week processing time for this)
Just wondering if anyone has had any success without the COPR document and if there’s anything I can do in the scenario?

consulates generally have open house sessions - go visit and ask the officers there - they might have a solution
also - even if you have a soft copy saved somewhere with the immigration officer's signature(and date) after u landed - even that works - if u have no copies - you can go ask them - but yes - VOS status document takes time to process - IRCC will give it to you but the time required can't be negotiated.
if you go in person to submit your application package they will verify your passport on the spot and return it to you there itself. If you send your application package through the courier service - then no - you don't need to send your passport - signed, attested copy of the passport(must be clearly legible copy) is good enough
Applied for OCI on Nov 18 at Toronto BLS. On Jan 2 I got an update from Official OCI website that that the OCI application is approved. However BLS website still show the status as "Processing at Consulate General". Is this common for everyone? How long would it typically take from this stage to getting it in hand.

Happy New Year and Congratulations. That's a pretty quick timeline. I submitted mine at BLS Mississauga on Dec 16 and it went under process on OCI portal on Dec 24.
My question - When you say Acknowledged, does it mean the status got updated to under process for you on Dec 15?
