No, at this point, they said that takes 15 business days, so praying for the OCI

It was 7 business days for me, you still got time. I know I would prefer OCI too but you are cutting it close.

My status on the embassy website says " Surrender certificate has been granted and is available for issuance". What does that mean? In how much time, will it reach me? BLS still says "Processing at Consulate General".

OCI has its own booklet. They don't need Canadian PP. Wise to carry it during In-person submissions.

@Hot2Cold @vivek.89 - i think we are in the same boat with similar timelines. For all three of us it is stuck at - "Certificate has been printed" status in HCI portal. I think the next status we should expect is "Dispatched" or something

Hey guys, I'm applying for the surrender of Indian citizenship and struggling with how the postal option works.
I used the link https://www.blsindia-canada.com/postalbls/pickup-and-drop.php and filled it up. However once I got to the end page https://www.blsindia-canada.com/postalbls/postal-checkout.php?order_id=xxxxxxxxx, and click on PROCEED TO PAYMENT, nothing happens.
How do people send in their applications via courier? Do you send it your own way? In that case, how do you set up a drop off as well? Or do you go and pick it up in person?

I think we all have same timeline ( I am assuming) My visit to consular camp expedited my file. Funny HCI website says still under processing.
Do check the BLS at this stage , mine showed picked up by Purolator.

Timeline for my infant son's OCI:

Walk-in submission: Feb 12, 2022
MEA website update: Feb 28, 2022
OCI printed: March 25, 2022

I'm sure this has been asked a few 1000 times already, but how long does it take to get the OCI from the time it has been printed? I've requested it to be couriered home.

Any update on the same. I have the same timeline as yours and still showing under process on OCI and on BLS site it's showing as processing at consulate general. Please let me know if anything is updated on your application. I have flight on April 24 and bit worried

My OCI has the following timeline:
Date of ackn: 25 FEB 2022
Processed/Dispatched from MEA/Received in Toronto: 24 MAR 2022
Yours will likely change by early next week.

Quick Question: while filling OCI application I have put place of brith as my "City name" but in my canadian passport its Written as "City Name IND". Now there is no way to update the OCI online form to reflect "Citi name IND" . does it make a differences?

Thanks. I paid about $163 for 1 year entry visa today. Wanted to apply for 5 year but they did not have any info.

Super disorganized as HCI and CGI said all visa except 10 year have been resumed but BLS said they can do 1 year max.

Also for people looking to walk in, be there super early and be prepared for ridiculous wait. The visa and surrender office (now at Building 60) only allowed about 10-11 people to walk in throughout the day. I saw some people who were waiting since 7 AM but they were turned back at 1 PM when guard said no more walk ins.

I applied for single entry short term visa and the BLS did not charge me anything for the visa, except the courier charges. Is this normal. Am wondering if this was a mistake?

No most probably yours is visitor visa or Tourist visa valid for 30 days and single entry. There is no consular charge for that ( as compared to entry visa 100 cad).
