OCI process

Is it okay to submit passport and landing paper photo copy of wife while applying for the oci.
Oci application is for the husband.
Please advise.

Hi what was the acknowledgement date per Indian consulate/embassy.
Out of curiosity as the dates are very similar, where did you submit and is it toronto/vancouver or ottawa that's responsible?

This is what I see

Registration Status at Mission OTTAWA
Documents Printing Status UNDER-PROCESS

Yours should be printing anytime. I beleive May 1 is holiday in India

Hi Folks - Does anyone know when would 2nd date start displaying after 1st date in OCI online status?

I feel mine is getting delayed a lot as others have mentioned its would be couple of days hardly after 1st date is visible. So far no update since April 21st and still waiting..

It makes me worried now. It still shows under process 35 days after acknowledgement.
Anyone know of any email address that will prompty reply for concerns in processing time?
I sent emailt o HCI ottawa and BLS canada - no response for 4 days..

Incase of any urgency, you might have to travel using emergency visa in worst case. or if you have planned any such and don't see coming up in 10-15days... then apply for visitor visa immediately.

CGI Toronto or HCI Ottawa can only do emergency visa based on your circumstance, but for OCI card they still wait for the card arrival at Consulate.

I went through this and by God's grace everything went fine back home. Hope this helps and plan early if you see OCI not being on time.

I have submitted my son Passport on April 30th for stamping and now the status updated as stamped and sent back to BLS .

Mostly I will pickup the passport and OCI today or tomorrow.

Incase of any urgency, you might have to travel using emergency visa in worst case. or if you have planned any such and don't see coming up in 10-15days... then apply for visitor visa immediately.

Thanks finally the first date appeared after i emailed to HCI ottawa. The processed date shows 6 April and Ottawa replied my email saying its been processed.
What a relief. Hopefully another 10 days to get passport request , else will have to apply for visa

I read on this forum that someone (I think stan) applied for surrender certificate and OCI the same day.
I will like to know how long did it take when it was applied together.
Anyone else has done that.. applying surrender certificate and OCI the same day?

Thanks to stan for letting us know. Yes, both can be applied on the same day at BLS(one counter for Surrender process and another for OCI). Make sure to have checklisted documents ready for both and also if you are applying for family and going alone to BLS, then have a authorization letter from them including spouse (children not required).

I assume it would take about 2months if you apply Surrender & OCI both together.

For me not sure why the 2nd date ie Dispatch from Delhi took 2 weeks which usually would be 1-2 days from previous others. And I applied both these with 10 days gap due to above mentioned points. Please note weekends at BLS have big queues and is advisable to go during weekdays.
