1. How to surrender the Indian citizenship?
2. What will happen to the property/Vehicles that I own in India. Do I still own it?
3. Anything else I should consider or be aware of things which can or will have impacts due to becoming new citizen.
Please any in depth all information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone on this forum for helping me in getting my OCI . special thanks to you brother @abbas.pasha . just got my OCI card today in the mail. Finally, done with BLS for good now :cool:

Abbas Bhai, the status on OCI website has been constantly displaying the below:
"Original documents Dispatched via courier
Dispatched via Courier"

I guess I should have already received the acknowledgement right?
Would that be in email, or that is just a status on OCI website?

SharmaG, Acknowledgement should be on OCI website: https://ociservices.gov.in/statusEnqury
on this site check what are the dates being mentioned in this table ?

Dispatched From MEA (OCI )NEW DELHIOnDD-MM-YYYY
Document received AtTORONTOOnDD-MM-YYYY

First the acknowledgement date is updated and usually between 3-4 weeks these 3 statuses (mentioned in the table) are updated.
If these Printed, Dispatched, Received dates are mentioned, then usually by next week you can expect to receive the OCI in your hand.

On the BLS website the status "Original documents Dispatched via courier Dispatched via Courier" means that the original Indian passport/surrender certificate which BLS kept has been couriered back to you.

I got a text from Purolator that the document has been picked up. Will be delivered on Monday.

From application to delivery took 29 days or 4 weeks.

Hi everyone,

Confusion in OCi application online form. My wife’s last name is changed to my last name after marriage and her Indian and Canadian passport is with a new last name but a marriage certificate with her old last name. I am wondering if should I skip the “Have you ever changed your name part or need to fill in her previous last name?

Her first name is not changed but just her last name changed after marriage.

Finally checked the status on OCI website and it looks like OCI has reached Toronto.
Looks like I won't have to apply for eVisa.

Ab kal se BLS pe tracking shuru karein: https://www.blsindia-canada.com/toronto-jurisdiction/track-application.php
Also try and search with your application# (CANTxxxx) on the Purolator website: https://www.purolator.com/en (if you availed or you were chepofied the "value added services" by BLS).
Agar maamla mid of the week tak nahin nipta to kripya BLS ko email (see below) pe sampark karein (quote them your Application# and Kaneda waala Passport# in that email) ... bade pyaar se puchna, Mai oye, mera OCI kithe hain :D

for the self attestation of documents,what to do with minor applicant?
sholud the parents able to sign it or the child's thumb needed on each document?

Thanks Bhai, itna detailed response k liye.
Hopefully BLS ko pyar bhari email krne ki zarurat nai padegi.
But have saved the template response for any future interactions with BLS
