Hey Guys,

It has been a long time since I wrote my test and yet no updates on my status.

Here's my timeline:

Application received ............... March 1, 2013
Proccess started ................... May 2, 2013
Notice to appear for test ........ Jan 22, 2014
Test written ......................... Feb 14, 2014

Also, my PR will expire mid of Jan 2015

Any suggestions on what I should do, I'd really appreciate that

In most routine cases, oath is scheduled within no more than 6 months after the test. Have you requested ATIP?

Hi elprof:
Did you receive pre-test RQ?

suggest that RQ cases are settle almost near processing time. i.e. 35 months.

they have taken the test of Pre test RQ cases and keep the file ready so

better for you to renew your P.R and also better apply for P.R renewal

soon so you will be having P.R in your hand before expiry .

I completely agree with Janoo's suggestion, knowing the CIC snail paced processing dont take a chance get your PR renewed ASAP. Its likely your Citizenship application may be processed sooner. Sadly, looks like CIC determined NOT to resolve RQ cases before 35 months.

Thanks, nope I have't heard anything yet. All I saw in my last ATIP couple of months back, hearing is NOT required which was not there in previous ATIP report. Still I dont know whether its default value or my case is inching in the positive direction.

Thank you all for your prompt responses, very much appreciated.

I haven't requested ATIP. Don't know if I should ?!.

Yes, I did a pre-test RQ. It's really unfortunate if I will have to complete 35 months of waiting

quick question which I hope can be answered so it doesn't disturb the purpose of this thread (tried searching but no relevant info)

is there a recommended time to apply for an ATIP? My time line is - apply jan 2013, did a pre-test RQ in feb 2013, did test in July 2014 and am now waiting (interviewer said 8 weeks max you will hear something).

Does requesting an ATIP hurt you in anyway? Shall I just request for one today?

thanks

There is no restrictions or adverse consequences for requesting any number of times the ATIP report, its mere status report. Many applicants request ATIP reports quite often, just to figure out what's progress on their pending applications.

ATIP report has two options, for the first one you are required to pay $5 and the second one "Privacy" it is free of cost. ATIP report comes in either the Physical report OR Electronic (Email Version) formats and it comes exactly after one month from the date of request.

I wrote my test on January 28th, and I'm also still waiting.

I got a pre-test RQ and I explicitly asked the agent who interviewed me whether or not my RQ had been fully processed, and she told me "yes" and that I should expect an oath date within 4-6 months. We're now at 8 months and change...

Hi Swede,
Did the officer mention in the interview whether s/he was satisfied with the RQ response? Have you ordered ATIP?
Another factor: is it close to or over 35 months since CIC received your application?
