Someone got info from IRCC that Vancouver processes all BG checks for files. So in most cases, it's more likely that the background check is slow/stuck, rather than that 'Vancouver' (as in the regional office working on / allocated local files) is slow or stuck.

Put differently: think of Vancouver as the background check office.* Within that office, there is *probably* a local files/ceremony function separate. But for most applicants who think they have a delay, it's more likely to be the backgound check function, not the 'local' part.

*If, of course, this info is correct.
My background check and test were completed in Jan and till today LPP didn't start. My primary processing office is Vancouver. This office is not processing local files fairly comparing to other offices. Maybe because this office is overwhelmed with background checks and non routine applications; However it is extremely unfair since local residents are waiting a very long time. I am not able to plan long summer trips. I know that I can travel, however maybe they send an interview or oath invitation at any time and I don't want to reschedule any one of them. This is frustrating and unfair. I can see people applied in 2025 and they already got their passports.

Hi, Has anyone had a virtual citizenship oath ceremony in the recent past? If so, how long did it take for you to receive the Citizenship E Certificate?

I know official timeline is 2-5 business days but I'm wondering if it's been sooner in the recent past.

I am not convinced that 'primary processing office' means what is implied by your text. It seems to me that 'primary' is not a fixed office based on location but what part of file is most 'active' (what part is 'primary' now).

In your case: it could be the prohibitions part that is held up, not 'LPP' over all. Still fits the pattern I described above.

(Or in other words: I so far do not see much utility in understanding which office is processing. Apart possibly from Sydney (seems to be intake stage only) or the ceremony office, which seems important only when it's an office with few in-person ceremonies).

They are not processed in sequential order. That's always been true. They are done in parallel, and some go faster than others.

I ordered my GCMS notes, which include the names of the primary and secondary offices handling my file. In my case, the Vancouver office is listed as the primary office, and Sydney as the secondary. The event office is Surrey (the same office that sent me the test invitation). I currently reside in British Columbia.

According to the GCMS notes, the sections related to language, physical presence, and prohibitions have not been initiated yet (they are not under processing). It appears that no further work has been done on my file since I completed the test.

Welcome to the club.

I just quickly glanced the trackers for Dec 2024, Jan 2025 and Feb 2025. None of the Vancouver applications have gone beyond test. It seems Vancouver office is backed up. Other locations' applications seem to progress. There might be something more going on in Vancouver office, which we might not understand. Hopefully the slump is over soon.

I wish there was a way to get it investigated as to why it is so if soo… add oct 2024 and Nov 2024 to the list

It could be the part 'we might not understand' is that Vancouver seems to do the BG/prohibitions for all.

Finally LPP marked complete, after 132 days since test completion
Adding 132 days to my wife's Feb 18, 2025 test completion date would make it an ETA of June 30, 2025. Here's hoping! Thank you very much for the update and congrats!

Thanks Buddy.
For my kids, all items are 'In Progress' still. Hopefully that is how it is. Now hoping to have the decision sooner.

Actually I put in a Webform yesterday asking not to schedule the Oath between September and November, since we will be out of country during that period (just to avoid a rescheduling). Not sure if that has anything to do with the update I see today.
