even not worth requesting GCMS notes, as the majority of dalays are due to sttafing shortage lol, one agent told me that LPP is something that completed last thing as soon as background completed. but I see pple completed background and test long time ago still waiting....., what could this be other than staffing shortage that needs to just finalyze application!

Regards,
They tell me the same thing, how LPP is the last step to complete before Oath maybe they mean that our oath will be done quickly right after our LPP is complete but it still doesn't justify all this unnecessary delay

I am still waiting after test completed in August...the application seemed to be delayed on the front end. It's good to know others are still waiting too, although I'm sorry we're all in this situation.

Hi all ! :D

My wife landed in Canada with her Permanent Resident Certificate in May 2019.

Around the end of October 2022, she applied for her citizenship.

Her AOR letter was received on November 15th 2022.

An invitation to pass the citizenship test was received on April 6th 2023.

The test was completed on April 23rd 2023.

Since then, we haven't received any updates, news or what so ever.

In our citizenship application status check we can see the following:

Last updated : April 1st 2023

Detailed application status:

Language skills : In Progress

Physical presence : In Progress

Citizenship test : In progress

Background verification : COMPLETED

Prohibitions : In Progress

Citizenship Ceremony : Not Started

Application history:

Apr. 6 2023 : Scheduled for citizenship test

March 30 2023 : Activity status updated. Citizenship test

March 28 2023 : Activity status updated. Background verification

Nov. 15 2022 : Application filled

We are concern with the fact that we know some people who have recently passed there citizenship exam and in the following month have been invited to there Citizenship Ceremony. It looks like something got stuck with the test. Is it normal that we haven't received any news in 5 months after having passed the test ?

How long it takes normally to get some movement in the process after having taken the citizenship exam ?

Thanks in advanced for any advises.

You should apply for GCMS notes and check if your file is stuck with Sydney office (RC-8090)

Check this to understand more - https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/gcms-rc-8090.740785/

Hi All,
I have applied in Oct 2002 with family in paper application. Following are my details:

AOR letter was received on November 2022.

The test was passed on 7th March 2023.

Pending on LPP since 7th March 2023 and I have sent status questions on webform but no response since last 2 weeks.

5ys for PR are completing in Feb 2024. Should I apply for renew of my PR card? What is the impact on PR status if I don't renew the card?

And how can I know where my application went for processing? I know few people who submitted after me and got citizenship after a month of passing the test.

We have also been stuck at LPP since March 13 and even GCMS notes didn't work for us though it did trigger some movement for some applicants.
You can call or order GCMS notes to find out your primary and secondary office.
You can renew your PR card if you decide to travel but it won't affect your PR status if you don't.
Your file could be stuck at:

Thank you for details. I was checking on how to request for GCMS notes. Got the link which says to send paper mail. Is there any online option to request GCMS notes?
