I havent had any update at all ever since. Who is in the same boat as me? Should I be concerned?

Guys I have a question. My BG is still in process but my wife’s BG was completed on may 5th. She still hasn’t received a test invitation. We both applied separately. Is there anyway that her application is being delayed because of my BG check?

Highly unlikely. A lot of people whose BG was completed are currently in limbo. Entirely depends on the local office processing the file.

I was told that even though you submit the application as a family, it gets broken down to individual application and each follow its own lifecycle. Since it is a family application, they try to streamline the process at some point in time so that you can have the oath ceremony together......but i guess if one application gets rejected for whatever reason - the entire application gets rejects (not sure though).

No defined timelines. It all depends on the case office / officer.

Since your application was received by the office on December 16th, maybe you also want to check the December 2020 thread (provide your timelines and location for updating / tracking in the December 2020 spreadsheet), to see if there are better updates there....irrespective of which ... you are alone in this...if that's any solace. There are many with similar cases as yours and hence you are not unusual. Hold on tight and hope / pray for things to move soon.!!!!

In july 2020, i sent a request to withdraw the old application and sent a new one. They sent me the AOR of the new application in November 2020. However they kept both applications in process despite the fact i asked many times to cancel the old one. In October 2021, they cancelled the old application and kept the new one in process. So any idea how soon will i take the test ? Does that mean, they did not work on the new application until october 2021 ?

That's pretty strange . If don't mind can you share why you cancelled the old one ?

I called a lawyer, he said to me if they think that you are missing even one day they will just refuse you after a while. So better cancel the old one and make a new application. According to the agent, she thought i was missing around 40-50 days and asked me for clarification. I sent my clarification after i found out their mistakes.

Are people frustrated and not applying

Jokes apart - I think this is the signs of vaccination, federal mandates / return to work ,acceptance of pandemic life by people.....Not to mention the election focus / stabilizing Afghan /crisis (I Hope).... If only they could make the process transparent and process by FIFO....you should have a much satisfied / less frustrated applicant pool....
