Hi everyone,

I have a question, a friend of mine wants to apply for citizenship online. They are a couple, and to be eligible for online application, you should apply as single application not family. Can they apply separately online? or they have to apply on paper as family?

I got today a request for passport copies. Does any one know why this would be , could I have put it the wrong travel dates ?Oh lord I hope I did not make mistakes!

Just got a request for all pages of the passport as well - I think this is normal, going by the other DP's on here (maybe a part of their new process).

Update: My citizenship test status is updated to Completed on August 24, 2021 (test taken on Aug 23, 2021).

Received request for scanned copy of all passport pages today (August 25, 2021) morning.

Question: Should I scan my expired passport also or just my current passport?

Yep, received an e-mail from the same place that sent my test invitation.

Subject line: Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada Passport Request Letter / Immigration, Réfugiés et Citoyenneté Canada Lettre de Demande de Passeport <Application Number>

Considering how many of them have received it, I think it's becoming standard practice for all the people who applied before it became mandatory from the get-go (IIRC in June or July this year) to get it done at this step of the process.

I think from their perspective, they're just homogenizing the practise for pretty much everyone in the backlog at this point, paper or online-based applications.

It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it could definitely have helped to have maybe announced this to everyone still waiting so they could get everything done and ready (scanning all pages of one's passport takes time; I've done it once before just as a data archive activity and keeping that damned thing flat on the scanner just makes me ..... ugh )

So yeah, maybe a good piece of advice for anyone waiting in the queue; maybe consider it a worthwhile investment of time to have all pages of your passport scanned and any suspect stamps translated (translations have infinite validity anyway, so might as well get it done now) so if and when you do get such a request, you're ready to rock and roll and send it back within seconds.
