Background verification was completed on April 09, 2021. No updates after that. This is so frustrating because it seems that people that applied later are already taking the tests! Why does this happen?

Next week is November applicants reach one year. Many of us included myself are stuck is April 23 as last update. I prefer if IRCC tells me that “we will finish your application in two year” rather than I am waiting and watching every day for update. Is that hard on IRCC. Some people says live your life normally; it’s very hard to wait for something major in your life and you don’t know when. We have families and kids; we need to plan for them.
Nov 2019 applicants here. Next month will be the 2-year anniversary for my application, and I am still waiting the oath

Oh no I misslead you my yes referred to the fact am stuck in April 23rd Calgary office
Thanks for clarifying! I was starting to have a little bit of hope there. I did notice that Calgary recently issued a small number of test invites this October 2021. Prior to that, the last batch of test invites they sent was on July 2021. If the trend were to continue, there's a (very) small chance that Calgary's Nov 2020 applicants might actually get invites by Jan 2022.

The level of incompetence that Calgary shows compared to the already awful performance of IRCC is mind-boggling tbh.

They don't care at all. You are not a priority for them. We are not a priority for them.
Yes, our applications might not important to them or at least not in high priority. But, I am concern about how high critical department is working; no clear time plans, leaving people in dark; it is shame. What ever excuse may exist like security process or emergencies is not excuse to keep applicants in dark. We don't ask for any sensitive or security related info. But, we looking for transparent clear time line for our application. As I said previously, tell me that my application will be finalized in three years and I am happy rather than keep me check this tracker every day scare of missing emails for undetermined time.

I agree with you but they are not transperant at all. As a matter of fact, i believe there are official rules and unofficial rules that we are not aware of. For instance, if you complete your time to apply, then you travel, the law says you can travel, but immigration does not really like that. They put your application on hold until you come back because they are thinking you don't want to live in Canada after getting the citizenship.......

1 whole already for NOV applicants and we can just hope and pray things start moving atleast
Time definitely has flown by - can’t believe 2021 is nearly over.:(

At least this year seems to be ending on a better note than it was this time last year (cusp of new wave, everything going into lockdown again). Now that there’s vaccines and people are accepting that this isn’t going away any time soon, things are trudging back to normalcy as numbers continue a steady decline. There is light at the end of this tunnel!:)

My citizenship ceremony was changed to in progress on July 30th and haven't heard a peep since. I wonder if anybody else has received their ceremony date recently from Vancouver office?
