Hi,
I just did my Oath Ceremony on 30th April. Applied in Nov 2019
How long does it take for the certificate to come. And also is there any timeframe for surrendering the indian passport and applying for canadian passport?
I am planning to move to another province so thinking i can surrender and apply after i move to another province.
Is that feasible? Thanks
You did your oath in the future and came back? It's March 31st today.

Congratulations. I know it's a typo.

Why are you surrendering your Indian passport? Were you already a dual citizen before the Canadian citizenship? They don't ask you to surrender your birth passport, only to cut up your Canadian PR card. You'll get to keep both passports as a dual citizen..

So after 30 months (Applied November 2019), I got the test invite on March 21, and passed the test on March 24.

Now the citizenship tracker shows the citizenship test as complete, but all other sections on my application are in progress and citizenship ceremony as not started.

I always thought that the invite for the test is sent when all other sections are completed. Does anyone else have a similar experience ?

This is the normal order of things. Most people have experienced the same. Your application is taking longer than normal, though.

Happy to share that we (myself, spouse) received our certificates. Below is our complete timeline.

Application sent : 18-Nov-2019
Application Delivered : 21-Nov-2019
AOR received on : 03-Feb-2020
ECAS status changed to "In process" : 20-Feb-2020
Test Invite Letter received on : 06-Oct-2021
Online Test date : 11-Oct-2021
Oath Letter Date : 28-Mar-2022
Oath Ceremony Date : 04-Apr-2022
Certificate received : 11-Apr-2022

Even though I included my wife along with my file as family application, IRCC scheduled my wife on a different Oath date. I didn't receive any response from them when I asked for the reason. She attended the ceremony on 13th April and got her certificate today (20th April).

Good luck to everyone waiting for their turn. I guess I can signoff from Canadavisa forum for good. FINALLY.... :D
