No, I did not fail medical. Yes, I may have messed it up, I never thought they would send MR that soon. Yes, I am a teacher and I need to be able to work with children. Yes, my OWP was issued with restrictions, but not because I failed (which I didn't fail) the MV. Yes, I had already sent the MR via web form, many weeks ago, but apparently it was submitted to the "thread" for the PR. rather than the work permit app.
Yes, it can be easily fixed; all I have to do is drive to the nearest border office and flagpole, which is basically asking a CBSA officer to lift the conditions of my wprk permit by showing him my medical results and then he or she can issue a new work permit right away.

Mili80, I think that the restrictions on your work permit are standard for all inland spousal OWPs. My husband’s restrictions are as follows:
1. Not authorized to work in childcare, primary/secondary school teaching, health service field occupations.
2. Unless authorized, prohibited from attending any educational institution or taking any academic, professional or vocational training course.
3. Not valid for employment in business related to the sex trade such as strip clubs, massage parlours or escort services.

Again, I don’t think the OWPis reliant on the medical in any way~ the medical is for the permanent residence part of the application.

My bet is that the restriction from working with kids or vulnerable adults (health services) is because OWP holders haven’t yet had their background check done ~ so there is no way of knowing (until this is done) if there is something in the person’s background that would be a red flag for working with kids or people who are elderly/disabled.

Mine came just with the restrictions 2. and 3. I wonder if it's why I sent the police certificates and schedule A upfront?

It doesn't seem to be a clear process for the Medical Exam/OWP... looks like it depends on the officer and their judgement, as well as other factors like the type of job and country of origin. We are also waiting for the hard copy of the OWP as we are in the same situation (husband would work in a health service occupation) and didn't know about the restrictions prior to applying, so we didn't send an upfront medical.

Seems to be taking ages for GCkey showing as medical received. Had my medical request 4th Feb and had the medical on 14th Feb. I sent the confirmation I had it yesterday by the webform.

On a side note...seems September inlands are getting their AIPs!

The doctor is given a two week window to upload/submit it after doing the medical. You can call the doctor’s office and ask what date the medical information was uploaded to CIC.

I was going to but it says on the form they gave me not to call the doctors office as they won't tell me...if it's not changed by Monday I call them regardless

The xrays indicated that he has abnormal lobular mass in his lungs. After the MR doctor submitted the info to CIC, they requested a CT scan. We had, of course, already gone ahead with this before the request, so this was available to MR dr. The hold up has been that the MR doctor is given a two week window to upload results each time, so although my husband had the medical in Jan 21, the MY CIC file still reads as a request for MR.

The doctor can give you a printout from eMedical which shows your exams are completed and the date they were uploaded. We have same situation as you, medical done Feb 12 and still no change in GCKey. I called IRCC and they said they have no record it was received yet, but eMedical printout from clinic shows it was uploaded. Strange, I guess all we can do is wait.

It says on mine the medical part in process, but next to the blood tests and x-ray incomplete as I went to two other places to get them done...but yeah the waiting game lol just frustrating paying out $460 and they take their sweet time

I got exactly the same restrictions. And Yes, you're partially right; the MR are for the PR purposes. But, also, if one is lucky enough and has done the MR before hand and thwy also updated to the owp app, then they will be issued without the restrictions. I was hoping for that... Anyways, I might take the opportunity and add one more state to the list of the state's visited in the US! We'll see, if ai get job offers in the education area, I will flagpole. If not, I'll wait until the PR comes through.

But, also, if one is lucky enough and has done the MR before hand and thwy also updated to the owp app, then they will be issued without the restrictions. I was hoping for that... Anyways, I might take the opportunity and add one more state to the list of the state's visited in the US! We'll see, if ai get job offers in the education area, I will flagpole. If not, I'll wait until the PR comes through.

I don't really understand why CIC puts a restriction on Point 2. Some jobs require you to attend courses especially if you just started with a company to get up to speed etc, so placing that restriction onto the OWP is ridiculous

You may want to check via phone with CiC, but I believe that you are able to take any training that is 6 months or less in total. Otherwise, you would need a study permit.
