Got my MR this morning in emails! I thought everyone only gets MR in mails not by email? I was actually going to do an upfront medical and ask the doctor to send in paper forms, but now things really worked out for me and I will request eMedical. My GCMS notes had the eligibility status updated to "recommend passed" in mid July so other guys with similar timeline should expect MR really soon.

App Received : 14-Nov/2012
AOR Received: 14-Jan/2013
MR Requested: 9-Oct/2013

No you can't because the medical request sends you a Medical Report form (IMM 1017E) which contains a bar code (along with your other personal information that's filled up for you) that's required for eMedical. If you do upfront medical, you would be getting a Upfront Medical Report (IMM 1017B) from the doctor which is generic, and the doctor can only send that in mail instead of eMedical.

Unless you have a specific reason to want to do the upfront medical, I would suggest to wait for the MR since your application timeline was before me so I think you will get your MR soon. If you do the upfront medical you risk screwing up your files and it could potentially take longer say if you receive your MR next week. (Paper submission would take 3 to 4 weeks while eMedical can take just 4 days if you find a good doctor who does things fast)

I would like to know the following details:
i) Date at which CIC received your passport
ii) Have you got the Passport back after PR stamping. If yes, please share the timeline.

One security / criminality related question -

Will cic do checks in the home country of the applicant even though we submit our police certificate. Also, if gcms says no reportable trace by RCMP, will cic do more checks here in canada? I've seen some comments in the forum where email from cic says security / criminality is ongoing - does this mean cic checks criminality on a daily basis?

Also, if a person travels to a different country after applying, will cic track this and do criminality check there as well?

I was able to do upfront medical in northeast Calgary sunridge and dmp can send e medicals FYI .

but you have to scanned copy the medical notification form they provided to you with the receipt to your email to Ottawa . But Make sure you ask them first if they send it to e medicals already. .!

I am also planning to do upfront medical at NE calgary Sunridge DMP. Can you confirm whether they have forwarded your medical report through emedical or mail ? What documents we have to collect from DMP at the time of upfront medical and send to CPP ottawa? how much it total charge you to do upfront medical?
