Primary Applicant: Pakistan
Dependent: Sri Lanka (born and lived there for only 6 months)
Lived in Dubai until the age of 20 and then moved to Spain for further studies

So the security checks will be from Pakistan, Dubai and Spain....

I'm from Pakistan too. From what I have seen, security checks for pakistanis are almost always 4 to 6 months long after the medical

I am also from Pakistan. May God help us then. I applied for US Visa from Canada and they put me on administrative process/security checks and it took almost a year for them to give me a US Visa

I am a november 2012 applicant and finished my medical in november 2013.
Still there is no response from CIC. I e-mailed ottawa office regarding my status as the processing time period is going over. They replied me " no further action is required on your part. Your file is under mandatory background check"
I dont know what to do next. This waiting period is frustrating.
Moreover my work permit is expiring in 5 months.
I dont know why they are taking too much time for background check??
