Our PR application has been in process since Feb 2024. Applied PR via SINP (employer restricted), and my current PGWP will expire on March 3, 2026. What is the best time to start and apply for the closed work permit? Also, I created an application for the closed work permit, but don't know where to include my employer's compliance fee receipt?

Hello. I am also in a similar situation, my nomination is employer restricted (SINP) and I have also caged jobs (but informed SINP about this change). My PGWP expires in July and my spouses SOWP expires in May. What are the chances of a closed work permit.

I just received my GCMS notes that i ordered on January 20. 2026. It says my application was updated on January 16 2026. but i don't see any changes on GCKey account nor on my Tracker. Any idea what this could mean? July 2024 applicant and no update since PAL February 2025.

I asked a lawyer who is specialized in filing mandamus. She said 12 months after the security check started is reasonable time to file. But the whole process may last one year. I'm in similar situation like you guys. Security check started in January 2025 and nothing moving since then. Have no military and government background. I don't know why I have been targeted by the comprehensive security background check.
Same here no military or government background, and Im over 2 years on background check. Info that I have from June last years IRCC did ask about c-check answer was that my case is under review with no time line.
Its a nightmare for me since in one mount will be 3 years since I did submit my aplication. I didn't expect to be treated like this.

For a while. it was only the principal applicant (my dad) who was in progress and all the dependents were not started. Just recently my mom called ircc specifically for updates on her background check. The agent stated that it is now in progress.
Is this a good sign that our application is slowly moving? Do they normally start the background on dependents only when the principal applicant background check is soon to be completed?
