I applied for non express inside canadaon aug 30th 2024 got no update after medical . Tried calling ircc agents in july and today as well they keep saying info sharing is in progress and security hasn't started which has been the as i ordered my notes in may and got them in june 3rd. I don't know what should i do evem though i don't have any travel history or anything . I feel like i shuld withdraw my file instead of filling siting in backlog
Understand how frustrating this feels — especially when you’ve been waiting months with no visible movement and every call to IRCC seems to give the same vague status update. But from what you’ve described, your case doesn’t sound abnormal for an inland non-Express Entry PR application filed in late August 2024. Those streams often take well over a year to fully process, and it’s common for files to sit in the “info sharing/security not started” stage for many months without any red flags.
  • Info sharing means IRCC is exchanging information with partner agencies (CBSA, CSIS, RCMP, etc.) to verify identity and background. This can take time even if you have no travel history or criminal record, because the queue itself is the bottleneck.
  • Security not started in GCMS notes often doesn’t mean IRCC has concerns — it just means that step hasn’t been triggered yet. In many inland cases, security checks are done near the end of processing, not early on.
  • Withdrawing now would erase all the time you’ve already waited and force you to start over with no guarantee of faster processing. Unless you have a more favorable stream to apply under, withdrawal usually just delays your PR even more.
If you can tolerate the wait, the best move is usually to keep your file active, keep an eye on your GCMS notes (every 3–6 months), and ensure IRCC has your correct contact info. Unfortunately, there’s no way to “push” security or info sharing to start sooner unless IRCC specifically requests something from you.

Based on what you’ve described, the appearance of COPR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence) numbers in your PR tracker—along with an expiry date—generally means that your application has reached a very advanced stage, and IRCC has already assigned you and your family your unique document numbers in preparation for issuing your COPRs. This is typically done once most of the checks, including background verification, are essentially complete. However, your GC Key still shows “eligibility: reviewing” and “final decision: in progress” because IRCC’s internal systems don’t always update all portals in sync, and they often finalize internal steps before updating the public-facing status. In short, the presence of COPR numbers is a strong positive sign that your application has likely passed major requirements and is in the finalization queue, but until the “final decision” changes to approved and you receive your portal (P1) email, the process isn’t officially complete. The mismatch between the PR tracker and GC Key statuses is common and usually just reflects a lag in updates rather than a problem.
Thanks for the prompt response, @Miss bee , much appreciated.

A follow-up question if you don't mind. Given the P1 is on the horizon, do you recommend I apply for BOWP considering my WP is good until Nov 30, 2025?

They stopped sending out FDs for more than two weeks. That's why some of the early August applicants already got ECOPRs, but late August applicants don't even have any update after Medical. I applied even before you, and I am in the same situation. So don't let it affect your health, as this is a normal process, and a lot of people are experiencing this just like us. All we can do is wait:)

Plus, they started sending FDs to mid-August applicants since last week, so yours shouldn't be far.

Am just stuck at such a workplace which i can't even leave cos of closed work permit . Feel so helpless o

I feel you! Do not spend money on gcms notes for now. The processing time can be slow during summertime as a lot of case workers have their vacations during this time. So give it another month or two. We are all experiencing the same situation and you are not alone:)

Don't know whether we'll get pr this year or not

Have you tried reaching out to your mp or requested gcms notes recently?

Mine is AR March 21 2024, All passed except comprehensive security started on Dec 4 2024 and still no update until now.
I dont believe in MPs and cry/beg for something. I will directly go to the lawyer for mandamus when my patience ends.

today my application went though month 30 from submission(AR 30 Jan 2023). I decided to put this for anyone who is like me or would be like me in future:

Non EE inland:

AOR: 30 March 2023
ADR1 (updating gap): 15 May 2023

ADR2:(military history): I did not serve in any military

Hello @Miss bee
I received ADR for police certificate from the Netherlands where i did my MSc. I was given 30 days by IRCC to submit it. Unfortunately it takes 4 weeks to get the certificate and it can only be mailed to me adding adding time before i can receive it. I have already submitted the application for the police certificate. What steps can I take with IRCC? Will they refuse my application?

IRCC can police certificates from countries where applicants have studied or worked, and some countries (like the Netherlands) have slow processing times.
Here’s how you can handle it so your application isn’t refused

1. Don’t wait — send an explanation before the deadline
Log in to your IRCC account and upload a Letter of Explanation (LOE) in place of the police certificate before the 30-day deadline.
  • In your LOE, clearly state:
    • The date you received IRCC’s Additional Document Request (ADR).
    • The date you applied for the Dutch police certificate.
    • The official processing time provided by the Dutch authorities.
    • That the certificate will be mailed to you, which adds extra time.
    • That you will submit it to IRCC as soon as you receive it.

  • Attach proof that you have already applied for the certificate — this could be:
    • A receipt or payment confirmation.
    • A confirmation email from the Dutch authorities.
    • A screenshot of your application submission.
2. IRCC’s usual approach
IRCC will typically not refuse your application if you can prove you applied for the police certificate within their deadline and it’s outside your control to receive it sooner.
  • They may either give you an extension or keep your file open until you submit the missing document
3. After you receive the certificate
Scan it and upload it to IRCC immediately via the webform or in the document upload section (if they reopen it).
  • Include your application number and a short message referencing your previous LOE.
4. Why this works
IRCC’s own instructions say that if a police certificate is delayed due to factors outside your control and you provide proof you’ve applied for it, they won’t refuse you for non-compliance — they just need to see that you acted promptly and honestly.

Anyone in comprehensive security screening at this point? I just found out that I'm having the most depth one. lol
