I'm gonna tell you once again. You need to have some patience when you apply PR application. People here are waiting from last 12-24 or maybe more months. You should consider yourself lucky at least you got chance to apply for PR and you are lucky that you can extend your work permit.
Again tracker doesn't reflect everything. It's just over view of your application. You never know what or when officer is working on your application. Also tracker Sometimes don't show accurate or exact information. For better in depth status of your application, you should call them every week and ask about your application or you should request GCMS notes to getter better status of your application. Tracker or gckey sometimes doesn't show exact status although it maybe passed by officer .
Again, have some patience. Nobody here is IRCC . Everyone is in the same boat .

Since your SINP nomination has expired after you submitted your PR application (on September 25, 2024) and received an AOR on March 15, 2025, here’s what you need to know:
No, you usually do not need to request a nomination extension if:
  1. You submitted your PR application before the nomination expired, and
  2. You have already received your AOR, which you have.
IRCC locks in your nomination at the time your application is received (as long as it was valid then). So even if your SINP nomination expires afterward, it does not affect your application under the Provincial Nominee Program.
When would you need an extension?
You only need to request a nomination extension if your nomination expires before you submit your PR application to IRCC. That’s not your case.
Thanks a lot. My application was submitted before the expiry of my nomination.

Hi @Miss bee

I received Portal 1 email on April 30 (replied the same day), and got Portal 2 email on May 15.

However, I have a scheduled international travel between June 8 and June 15 (this came up after I replied to Portal 1).

Now that given the processing time of eCOPR and new PR card, I think it's very unlikely that I would receive the physical PR card before my travel. I do have a valid TRV right now, but I'm aware that will become void after eCOPR and I might not be able to board a plane. In the meantime, I do not have a valid US visa so I cannot arrive Canada by land in private vehicle with eCOPR.

I have informed IRCC via webform and also replied to the email address in the Portal 1 email, but have yet to receive a reply. Given the deadline to reply Portal 2 is due tomorrow, I'm wondering whether I should just confirm my physical presence in Canada (which is true that I'm indeed in Canada right now) and submit PR photo today, and let them decide how to proceed.

I know PRTD is a thing, but it's hard to know whether it will be processed within 7 days. Also, I'm not travelling to my home country, so I will be restricted by the visa to stay legally as well.

What do you think?

Hello @Miss bee

I'm planning to move to a different city in Ontario, and I will have to update my residential address. Do you know if we need to let OINP know as well? Or can I just send a webform to IRCC and be done with?

Thanks.

Hello everyone. I applied for my federal non express application at the end of December 2024. I am seeing that AOR is taking longer than before and my work permit will expire at the end of September 2025. My employer is not willing to support me to apply for a closed work permit. And I need my AOR to apply for BOWP. How should I proceed? I am really confused. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Yes if you are currently in Canada, you can reply to portal 2 email and submit photo . You cN leave Canada anytime after doing this however if you got ECOPR before you return to Canada, you have to apply for PRTD.

You’re currently in a difficult position where your federal non-Express Entry PR application, submitted in late December 2024, is still waiting for an Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR), which is necessary to apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP). Since your current work permit will expire at the end of September 2025 and your employer is not willing to support a closed work permit application, you’re understandably concerned. AORs for non-Express Entry applications can take several months—typically 2 to 5 months or more depending on the stream—so it’s not unusual that you haven’t received it yet. In the meantime, you should prepare all documents for a BOWP so you can apply immediately once your AOR arrives. If your AOR still hasn’t arrived by early September, you should consider applying to change your status to a visitor to maintain legal status in Canada, though this would mean giving up the right to work temporarily. Another option is to look for a new employer who is willing to support a closed work permit. While waiting, you could also send a webform request to IRCC explaining your situation and requesting urgent processing of your AOR—though there’s no guarantee, it might help. The key is to ensure you don’t let your current work permit expire without applying for something, to avoid falling out of status.
