Hi Cobra,exact same here
I appreciate your detailed response, @Miss bee .Non-Express Entry PR application: Submitted in November 2024, AOR still pending.
Your Options
- Express Entry (EE) profile: You received an ITA under the CEC-Education category recently.
- PGWP expires in October 2026: So you still have about 1.5 years of legal status .
Option 1: Accept the Express Entry Invitation
Option 2: Ignore the EE Invitation and Stick with Non-EE
- Pros:
- Much faster processing time (CEC files often processed in under 6–8 months).
- You will receive AOR immediately upon submitting the application.
- You can apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) when you’re within 4 months of PGWP expiry (June 2026), and you’ll have AOR by then.
- Cons:
- You will likely need to withdraw your Non-EE application once EE PR is approved to avoid duplicate processing.
Recommendation
- Pros:
- Simpler if you’ve already invested time and effort into this stream.
- Cons:
- Slower process.
- No AOR yet — if delays continue, it may drag on significantly.
- No significant benefit over EE unless your non-EE category gives you some advantage (e.g., more stable processing for specific PNP streams).
Given your strong position (CEC-eligible, PGWP valid until October 2026), I recommend accepting the Express Entry (CEC-Education category) invitation and submitting a new EE PR application.
Once you receive your EE AOR, you can let both applications run in parallel for a while. Later, if your EE application progresses well (e.g., medicals passed, background in progress), you can choose to withdraw the Non-Express Entry application to avoid duplication.
Thank you @Miss bee . I appreciate your detailed response. Just a follow up query which I just figured out recently:Non-Express Entry PR application: Submitted in November 2024, AOR still pending.

I just have some few other queries,
1. Do you think if I would stick with Non-EE,
Thank you @Miss bee . I appreciate your detailed response. Just a follow up query which I just figured out recently:
1. I found out through the summary of my score that under the “canadian education” factor my score is 0. I then realized that it’s because of my answer to the question about the course which should have been ‘NO’ but I answered ‘YES’. Basically an error in my part when I answered the question during profile creation. My program was a 2-year ECE diploma, so I am sure it is eligible for the canadian education points, which will make my score higher by 15 points. Am I in trouble if I accept the invitation? Would a ‘letter of explanation’ works?
2. Another thing, I claimed points under the ‘sibling’ factor which is 15 pts I believe. However, my canadian sister will move to USA in July this year. Am I still eligible to claim the said sibling points? If not, would the missed points under the canadian education (15pts) would cover it if ever they would recalculate my score?
3. With all the circumstances mentioned above, is still safe to accept the invitation or decline it for now and just correct my ee profile first?
4. Also just a question about my NON-EE application.. If ever that I would just stick with my non-ee, do you think my remaining 1.5 yrs of pgwp be enough until I receive my permanent residency approval? or is there a greater chance for the processing to exceed beyond October 2026?
@Miss bee thank you so much in advance and I look forward to reading your advice.

@davidbrasil - This is a certainly a good news. You are almost officially a PR now. You are just 4 steps away from getting your PR.My COPR is already appearing in my application and that of my family. Does this mean that I have already been approved? How long will it take for me to receive the confirmation email?
