Yes you need to apply for new closed work permit however if you get AOR and you don’t have any employer restrictions on your nomination certificate, you can apply for BOWP.

What are the other steps after the medical one?
1. Background Check:
• Criminality Check: IRCC verifies police certificates to ensure there are no criminal inadmissibilities.
• Security Screening: This involves checking if the applicants pose any security risks to Canada. This can take varying amounts of times
• Eligibility Review: IRCC ensures all applicants meet the eligibility criteria based on submitted documents (e.g., proof of funds, employment letters, education, etc.).
2. Additional Document Requests (if any):
• IRCC may ask for additional documents, such as updated police certificates, proof of funds, or further explanation for specific details in your application
• Keep checking both GCKey and the tracker for such requests.
3. Decision Made:
• Once all the assessments (medical, background check, and eligibility) are successfully completed, the status changes to “Final Decision: Approved” in GCKey and “Application Approved” in the tracker.
• If you’re already in Canada, they may instead provide a virtual landing option.
5. COPR Issuance:
• Once you receive the COPR, you are officially approved for PR. If landing in Canada for the first time, you’ll need this document to complete the PR landing process
About Your Medical Exams:
• IRCC typically reviews all medical exams together for family members on the same application. If your wife’s medicals are passed, yours and your son’s results are likely already reviewed or will be soon.
• Keep monitoring GCKey for updates; sometimes, updates for dependents are staggered but progress within a few days.

You do not require any funds to show unless IRCC requests them. Your Job Offer and pay slips are the main documents showing your financial capability in Canada, so funds are not required.

I received P1 yesterday, which I replied almost immediately with my (PA) and my husband’s information.
I did not provide that level of clarity you mentioned a few comments above, however, I’m willing to do that if you think it’s important.
Today I logged in to the tracker and saw that we already have a COPR number and expiring date.
Is that normal having the COPR number available in the tracker one day after replying P1 email?

Just for comparison, I already had my COPR number visible in the tracker even before receiving P1. Now, I’m waiting for P2.
Out of curiosity, I still don’t see the FD in my GCKey account. I thought it would appear before receiving P1.
Hello @Miss bee, please if an applicant PR is approved, is it compulsory for the applicant to still remain or work with the same employer that gave them the initial job offer prior to their nomination and application being submitted and approved. I am asking because my friend is thinking of quiting their job and look for another job with a better wages. Would quiting their present job impact on their PR. Thank you.

Since you don't have AOR, you can submit the docs by raising a webform using your UCI number.
