Hello everyone,

If the applicant's spouse is not accompanying, what docs does the CIO in Nova Scotia require them to submit with the PR application? The passport, Schedule A, and IMM 5406 as well all signed by the spouse? The applicant is a SK Provincial Nominee. Also, if the applicant has a child from a previous relationship (not marriage), and the child is above the age of 20, does he also need to provide passport, schedule A and 5406 for PR application?

My friend from Mexico is desperate to come to Canada and I am trying to help him with his application. Thanks for your advice in advance!

Children 19 years of age and older are no longer classified as dependents and should not be included as dependents in the application (they should be listed as other family members).

For your non-accompanying spouse question, I would recommend you ask this question in the Provincial Nomination section of this forum. A copy of the spouse's passport will certainly be required and they will have to go through the medical - as well as provide police certificates. For a full set of requirements it would be best to post to the Provincial Nomination part of the forum.

Great, thanks for the tip about the dependent. He is non-accompanying anyways but it's good to know that we won't need to submit documents for him. Saves us time.

I will ask in the PN section for the non-accompanying spouse. Thanks for your help Scylla.
