My SO has 3 girls who will NOT be accompanying us to Canada. We do want to be able to sponsor them though once they have finished school.
I know we need to get the medicals for them, but do we seriously need to get passports, 8 photos each and also pay 150 dollars each per daughter or is that only for dependents that are coming?

Thanks in advance :)

When you are ready to sponsor your partner's children, you have to complete applications for each child as you would anyone you sponsor. So this would mean paying full fees, getting passport photos, paying for medicals and anything else.

The 150 is only if they are accompanying. If your spouse cooperates get everything required to send in with the application including passports, photos etc. unless avoiding some time and inconvenience now is of greater value then sponsoring them later. Medicals are most important although there was a thread where a person with non-accompanying dependents was having difficultly getting a DMP to do the medical without passports to identify the children.

Great, thank you so much :)
