Hi there,

I need some help with picking my NOC code. So here is my situation summarized.

* Graduated from University Oct 2011.
* Worked as a Client services specialist at an online discount brokerage for 5 months
- Handled client inquiries about all trading related inquiries regarding stocks, options, bonds, mutual funds, accounts history, trading platform features, margin calls etc.
- Worked with other departments in handling escalations, carrying out withdrawal requests, foreign exchange requests etc.
* Worked as a Technical support analyst - 6 months (online discount brokerage)
- Includes responsibilities of Client services specialist.
- Assisted client with trading platform related inquires.
- Identified bugs in the trading platform and escalated to tier 2 technical support.
- Tested new platforms to identify new bugs and suggest improvement for platform.
* Working as a Team lead for technical support and client services. (Online discount brokerage)
- Includes responsibilities of both job listed above.
- Also assist team members and handle client service escalations and technical support escalations.

Which NOC code would I fall under and would my experience be sufficient?

kindly provide advise.

your situation looks different. if all these roles mentioned are being perfomed online and ur self employed, you might not be eligible. my advice for u is to consult with an immigration lawyer for best inquiry .
 
I am not a senior, but from what i can see,you can apply under NOC:2282 User support technicians.
This comes under broad classification of 228 which is under Skill level B of the NOC Matrix.

Probably NOC 6551

Since this is skill level C you would not be able to "count" these first 5 months toward your 1 year work requirement. Still, a promotion within 5 months means it was a good investment :)

NOC 2282 may be right for this position -

* I had 2 additional question.
1) Some people at my work place told me that the first 5 months as a Client services specialist could count towards CEC credits as the job duties are some what complex. Either ways they were vague and did not provide a lot of information. Any ideas?
2) Would I still be able to apply under CEC with my first 5 months of experience as a client services specialist?

Just my opinion, CIC tends to evaluate any type of customer service (unless it is technical) as unskilled. So I don't think you'll get skilled work "credit" for those first 5 months.

But it won't hurt you, either, you just need to gain the 12 months of skilled work experience within a period of 2 years.

Sorry I keep bombarding you with Questions, I had just one more question:

If I were to switch jobs say in the upcoming month or 2, would it affect my application?
For example: Say I move from a Skill Level B job after 8 months to another skill level B job (in another company)to and complete the remaining 4 months. Would this affect my application? and How would I prove this to the CIC?

It would not affect your eligibility. But if you apply after you switch jobs, you will have to include a letter of reference from your new employer as well.

??? How would you prove what? Have you read the application instructions?
