No Surname on my profilr

Hi,

I am applying for express entry for 2019 intake. I completed my IELTS and Wes is in progress. I have also created a profile but my passport has just full name, no surname.

Given Name: John Doe
Surname: <blank>

In my US Visa
Surname: John Doe
Given name: FNU

My question is:
IRCC has asterisks for first name and surname. And few have advices me to just fill in the surname as 'john Doe' and leave give name as <blank>

Please advice

If you do not have a family name on your passport, travel or identity document, enter all your given name(s) in the surname field and leave the given name field blank. Do not enter “Not applicable,” “*” or “NA.”
