--------No Reply from Scotiabank, tired ---------

I transferred the funds on 11th november.

On 18th nov, I was told I should get the GIC by 22 november (they said it takes them 5 working days to receive the funds and another 3 working days to issue GIC ).

On 21 nov, they confirmed they had received the funds.

On 25 nov, they said they cant tell anything more than they have received the funds or not. They cannot tell when they received them or when they can issue GIC.

Today, on 26 nov, its been total of 11 working days.

So shall I call the Ombudsman (highest authority to complain) today ??

I'm just worried that multiple follow up calls may further delay the process..... Is this possible or it may speed things up??

I think u will get today or tomorrow...!! it takes 12 working days for my GIC... If they receive your funds then you don't have to worry much.. all they have to do is to generate GIC certificate of your account..!! but if you still want to call them then do it.. it would be worth a shot..

sailing in the same boat....should we call this ombudsman? or it may further delay?

PS- when did you transfer the funds and when did they receive it/?

Yaa u should call them. I paid on same date I got on 25 Nov

So I just called now, on the Ombudsman number, my call got disconnected automatically twice after 30 seconds.
Then I called the manager and the assistant to president, both said the best thing to do is be patient and wait and said they cannot do anything else unfortunately due to overwhelming queries and response to student GIC Program. :'(

If I don't get anything by tomorrow morning, I'm filing the visa later in the day tomorrow.

I will advise you to have patience.. File your visa until last moment.. its already late for visa filling so why not wait for couple of days.!!
you will regret if you got your GIC and your file is at embassy ..!

yeah thats right... but I'm just getting a feeling that a lot of people will submit their file on 29th and the VO will do akkad bakkad bambay bo with files without reading them..... ;D and I think it will make a remarkable difference if I submit it even a day before last day

LOL.. it seems like VO do "akkad bakkad bambay bo" with every file...!! anyways, what if most of the people thinks the way you are thinking.. so there are more files on the day before the last day.. 8).. anything can happen... just make a proper file so that VO pointed "akkad bakkad bambay bo" on your file

btw, have you been checking your spam mail folder? Mine landed up in the spam. I was lucky enough to check the spam mails before deleting them all..

Got the GIC...printout shud be taken of the file other than Welcome package ?
