But how can they differentiate between applicants as my friend who applied after me in the same category got PPR just after two week's of RPRF?

Security checks can take a long time depending on where you are from. I paid RPRF on December 1st, 2013 and I still have no response from CIC. You don't need to be alarmed.

Thanks but do they really acknowledge reminder emails before the processing time? I am planning to apply for GCMS next week.

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. If you just ask them the status of your application, they may not. But if you ask them to ensure your medicals are included in your file, chances are they might respond.

Folks,

Received MR on 22nd feb. NO RPRF/BIODATA email yet. :( Is this normal?

This is kind of scary, without any updates the wait really kills.

I paid the RPRF early november and still did not receive any thing. It is 5 months.

Hi everyone!

If you guys don't mind sharing where you're from, where you lived, and how long you've been in Canada; at least we might be able to find a pattern.

Agree, can we create a spreadsheet to capture this? Might be useful for future users too.

+1 on the spreadsheet. If someone doesn't like to disclose their info, they can simply add that info to the file without their names/user IDs.

A spreadsheet would help, but we should make sure only applicants that have been waiting more than a certain amount of time (say 2 months) should be on the spreadsheet, because anything less than that is just normal processing time. I know Pakistanis and Iranis go through an extensive security check, and there is already a separate thread for Pakistanis, but it would be interesting to see which countries fall under that sphere.

Not sure if Saudis are on that list too. I know that visas take less time for Saudis now compared to the listed nationalities. 2 Months isn't normal given there are people who get it within days after MD.

I am from Iran and I got my PPR 3 weeks after I did my medical. So I don't think it is just related to nationality. It seems you go through longer security check if you are a male applicant, which I was not. But for my Iranian guy friend, security took more than 1 year! His medical was expired at that time and he had to redo it...

Well maybe we can make it 1 month. If they're getting their PPR before that, the delay was probably not caused by a security screening.

SO basically I applied under PNP and CEC too.
CEC is in process and I paid RPRF almost one month ago. There is something fishy although they say it does not matter, we need to find out what is happening because I am pretty sure that they are trying to make the PNP application get approved , which takes 16 months.
What could we do now.Get lawyers to investigate or hire a private investigator?

WOW, calm down please :). Please don't take things personally, they don't have time to give all these thoughts to every applicant...

A private investigator....really?? That's a first.
