Hi All,

I've applied 6 weeks before - still no sign. I also contacted the police station at my hometown - they have not heard anything from embassy / passport office.

I also sent emails to embassy at Toronto - they don't respond at all. Nobody receives phone calls at embassy - is there an extension that I should dial? I'm greatly worried.

@Rajanna,

Can you tell me the phone numbers / email IDs to contact embassy?

2nd question - I've not been to India after coming to canada. Can I ask my dad to get my certificates from police station in India? Is that valid? Or is it mandatory that I should get it from embassy?

Thanks,
Spk

Sorry I was away,
1. Call between 3.00-4.00PM and give them the CANT Number on the receipt or goto CGI Toronto between 9-11.00AM
2. You can get it from India, but with some Amyamya...:)

Hi Rajanna,

I am in 7th week and waiting for my PCC. Actually I have my tickets booked for January 4th ...and I am so scared now ...I just had very heated argument with VFS folks ...but I think they cant do anything ...

Do you think if I go to Embassy, I should be able to get my passport atleast....I need them as I have to travel ...

Rajanna - How does one get the PCC from India? From the regional passport office?

aartish, if you are in India, you can visit the below link and it has all the info.

Yahoo,

Have you ever applied in India have received it ? My passport is stuck with embassy and I have booked my tickets for 4th Jan. I am going to visit consulate next week and would try to get my passport back atleast....

sorry, I have not applied but I know that this is the process now unless you know some big shots in the Police dept.

Friends, below was the post on August 30, 2012, 02:14:06 pm from one of the applicants PCKUMAR.

"So I would suggest for future applicants, if you want to receive the PCC faster, apply for both Birth Certificate and PCC together from Indian consulate eventhough you already have a birth certificate. The amount($40 including $20 fees for VFS) you pay for only PCC through VFS is the same amount that you pay for both(PCC & Birth Certificate each $20) through Indian consulate. Hope this helps for people who are planning to apply for PCC in the future and wish to receive it quickly".

Did anyone else try this way?

I applied both PCC and BC together through VFS to Vancouver CGI and got it in 2 weeks. Even I did the same for my wife, she got both in 2 weeks.

I am having same issue

been 8 weeks no reply for any emails sent to consulate, local police have no idea what it means nor commissioner office has any clue and my travel plans are in limbo w/o passport.

Hi Gaurav,

Please go and talk to Consulate...and I am sure they will listen to you as your application has passed 6 weeks deadline. Tell them that you have to travel ....and you need the passport...

Just Got PCC from CGI Toronto ....

All the best guys.. Its worth going to consulate and talk about it ...

I am also waiting for the PCC....aaplied Oct 17, 2012 at VFS Toronto...and God...the wait times are horrible..
