I got this mail today from Accra. This is after I have done medicals and sent documents to them.

I have determined that you may be ineligible to Canada as a foreign national by virtue of the fact that you do not meet the Financials requirements necessary for a family of 4(CAD$ 21,971) as outlined in section R76(1)(b) of the Immigration Refugee Protection Act and the Regulations:

Before I make a final decision, you may submit additional information relating to this issue. You must show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family after you get to Canada. You cannot borrow this money from another person. You must be able to use this money to pay the costs of living for your family (even if they are not coming with you). Valuations of current property are not acceptable as proof of available funds.



You have 30 days from the date of this letter to submit additional information to me. Please ensure that you quote the application number indicated at the top of this letter on any information you submit.


I have submitted POF with my MR for 4 families worth N3.5 I don't understand what else they want from me.

Pls help in making my response to them.

There may not be any problem. Try to make your POF up to 4m, you should be able to explain the fresh funds. You should also include your RSA ( pension account).

i dont think there is any need to worry. i think its just a precautionary measure on their part. just add a bit more to the initial 3.5m and explain how the addition came about.

Our PPR just strolled in. We were given 15 days to submit our passports. I have a few questions though:

Must we fill the IMM8 form again or can we just state that our family composition has not changed.
Also, can any of the seniors send me a template of the cover letter they used.

We are thinking of using UPS as this is the courier service closest to us. Is this advisable or we should just stick with DHL.

Daramz, this mail from AVO is unusual even after you furnished them with updated POF. Maybe they need an explanation of the source of the fund or cash flow - maybe document showing sale of car or land or something.
