Greetings,

For some of you interested in coming to Saskatchewan or recently landed in Saskatchewan, i will like to encourage you to register in the mentorship programme with the Saskatchewan intercultural organization.

http://www.saskintercultural.org/programs/employment/mentorship-project

Apart from the fact that it is completely free of charge, you also get the following;

1) Excellent mentorship training such as how to act in Canadian workplace, understanding Canadian accents, Free First aid & CPR trainings etc.
2) A regular Personal Training allowance (PTA) from the Government of Saskatchewan till you get a job (between $600 - $1300 monthly depending on your family size)
3) An internship job placement in your occupation line after your training to give you relevant Canadian experience (80% of placement employers actually retain the interns).
4) Life insurance during your internship
5) A $200 cheque to buy any book or take any exams of your choice to enhance your job search.

I must add that it isn't an all comers affair... they take between 10-12 people every quarter. you can get more details from their website.
I actually attended this last year before i got my current job.

All the best guys !

PS: Pls give me a +1 if you find this post useful ;D

Thanks a lot Omo Naija. Your encouragement has been phenomenal. Believe me, I'm not patronising you. Just so you know i am working very hard on some of the advice you gave on relevant training. I'll give the house an update once I'm done with the exams (demanding and expensive but we'll worth it) Thank you so very much and God bless you.

Hello,

Please i need your opinion on something. The Visa officer requested for a proof of self employment for my wife. My wife has a small shop where she sells hair extensions such as Remmy, weave on, etc and cosmetics. What kind of proof can we send to him/her?

Saskatchewan is like every other city in Canada except that it isn't as crowded as most cities.... the major cities are Saskatoon and Regina (Province Capital)

Saskatoon has more people with more private sector jobs while Regina has most Government related jobs and is the hub for I.T jobs

its really family friendly like every other Canadian city and it has the lowest employment rate in Canada.

Hi, send proof of business name registration if she has a registered business. Wonder why AVO is asking since she is not the PA

You could take a picture of her selling the items inside the shop. Also if she makes deposits into wholesalers account for the goods... attach the deposit slip photocopy.
if the business is registered attached photocopies of the registration papers, if she pays tax to government on the shop ...attach the copy of the receipt.
May God go before you in this and make the crooked path straight.
