Hello folks,
My wife is a December 2017 applicant. Her PR card expires in October 2018. We are hoping she will be a citizen by then and considering not bothering with a PR card renewal application.
The issue is if her Citizenship application takes long enough so that her PR card will expire before she gets a Canadian passport. She is a US citizen so technically she can fly to Canada on her US passport and then immigration can look her up in the system. So she may not need a valid PR card. But she is also a NEXUS member, which is great for bypassing the lines. I'm wondering if she can keep her NEXUS status with an expired PR card or if the kiosk will red flag her and force her to go to secondary every time. Just curious if anyone has any experience with this?
Thanks in advance
