ahh yes you are right. but the application will still be sent to Manila VO for processing because the common law husband is a resident of the Philippines, now assuming she is a naturalized canadian citizen and her previous citizenship is a Filipino, MVO might require cenomar/AOM from sponsor, don't you think?
i got your point but remember once the file is sent to Manila it means the sponsor is approved , MVO is responsible for the applicant. the sponsor will present her divorce papers and since Canada recognizes the marriage in HK she will defintely will get aponsor approval. But if the applicant who is a filipino and also married in Manila it will be refused for sure

Hmnn, interesting topic. I am on the same boat as the OP. I divorced my ex husband in Canada got married to my now husband in Canada as well. Not annulled in the Philippines. Applied for OUtland, submitted my Canadian divorce cert and marriage cert and eventually got requested AOM for me being the PA. Now with OP's concern, as long as divorce is recognized in the country where u got it from and eventually gets married to the new spouse in HK, Canadian Embassy whether it may be in Manila or anywhere in the world, there's no geographical limitation, CIC will still follow the divorce granted and marriage where it's recognized. I hope this will somehow shed a light

Just remember , if your a PR and want to divorce your filipino husband or wife you still will file for annullment in the Philippines but if you file for divorce and your are already a Canadian citizen you will only file the recognition of divorce in the Philippines so you can remarry again in the Philippines

Hi there!

I sent via IRCC thrice (April 7, April 19 and May 4) kaso they never confirmed. I thought nasa manila na so I emailed manila immigration asking if my file was already transferred. They forwarded my email to my visa officer in CPC mississauga and he requested a reply email with my PCC and Schedule A. May 15, he confirmed receipt and attached the documents electronically to my file. Tapos today May 18, IRCC also replied they have received my documents. So dalawa ang nag confirm. Yung sa IRCC they do get yung documents yun lang sobrang daming backlogs kaya matagal. I suggest sending ASAP after sponsor approval.

Quick question guys:

On Apr 27 they sent us an email requesting the AOM.
However, MyCIC never showed the link to upload the AOM there.

Since there were three choices on how to send anyway and they said only to send through one method, we chose to send it by email to MANILIMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca instead.

Now under MYCIC, when you click on "view submitted application", it shows the IMM5669 as "required" (which we uploaded way back), but it also shows an "optional" document which is a "letter of explanation". Does this "optional" document show for everybody?
Again, they never provided a place to upload the AOM to MyCIC so I'm thinking maybe they made a mistake?

Thanks for your help :)
