I'm not really 100% sure about this, but if I'll be the officer that will evaluate the genuiness of your relationship then I will have a doubt and will ask for more proof regarding your relationship. Because supporting financially your Ex-wife/husband could be a bit intriguing, because it means that the ex-couple still have communication and commitment (support financially). Alternatively, you can say that your husband and ex wife are co-parenting with their children and your husband is giving financial support to his children, but Not for his ex-wife.
Exactly, they are co-parenting the kids and by law, he has to provide child support..should I put the kids names then?

Hi good morning! finally we are PR and we already done in our PDOS and booked our flight.

Yung flight po namin ay from Philippines-Narita Tokyo -Detroit USA- Toronto

Do we need transit visa po ba pag-enter namin sa US? 5 hrs lang naman po ang layover bago yung flight namin papuntang Toronto. Delta Airline po kami nagpabook. thanks in advance po sa sasagot.
Something else to consider, is you are not actually a Canadian PR. So to enter in the USA would require a visa, as you are not from a visa exempt country. You don't actually become a PR until you land in Canada, and pass through the Immigration inspection at the Canadian airport.

Yes, for sure for the children. But no for the ex-wife, because that could be a red flag, but that is just my insight.

I'm sorry to say but this is not good advice..
one thing i learned from this whole process as well as reading other peoples scenarios here is never lie to immigration.. they clearly ask for that information for a reason! by lying you risk the chance of that person not being able to come to canada. this is the canadian gov't were talking about.. if theres nothing more to hide why lie about it?

Hello All,

Question po:

Under "Other Financially Dependent People", should my hubby include his Ex and kids whom he provide monthly child support?

Insights please...thanks!
dont lie, just state it because its possible they will find out and youre taking a big risk by lying about it. This is the canadian government..
theyve obviously had cases like this before.. just be honest and put it down. if they investigate further have other sources ready to show your relationship is true - pictures, communication logs, maybe pics of you and children if there are any to show you're part of their lives etc.

Well, my point here is risking the part that the officer may doubt about the genuiness of her relationship to her husband. Because ex is ex, past relationship is already past, meaning no more commitment or responsibility to each other, but if the ex is still depending on his/her ex, then it could raised a redflag. For example, The husband will write down his ex-wife's name under dependant, and what will be the relationship to the PA he will put in there? Ex wife? Ahhm not good. And also, its not lying, he will just declaring it in different way. Instead of financially supporting the ex-wife and their children, he can just say co-parenting with his ex wife and financially supporting the children. Because they are already legally separated which means the husband doesnt have any more responsibilities to his ex-wife, and it is automatically means that the ex-wife should support herself and not depending on his ex-husband.

Its like, sugar coating it. You're not lying, but you're just declaring it in more safer way.

but assuming the husband is the sponsor, it will state it in the taxes that he files which he has to submit anyways. and if he's paying alimony, he has to state it.. immigration deals with thousands of cases similar to this, why would it raise a red flag if he's paying alimony, alimony is normal..

She didnt state if the husband is the sponsor or PA. If there is a court order then yes he can declare that, but if there isnt then its up to them. In case there isnt, then they should prepare for longer assessment as the officer will for sure will look every angles of their relationship. As I said on my first response, this is just my insight because if I am the ex-wife then I will not let myself to be financially dependant to my ex-husband.

Is it good enough na po ba na they actually recieve it? May kaso po ba dito na nagsesend sila ng feedback with reards to the documents uploaded online? Thanks

Either way po you should be fine. Yung sa kin sinama ko yung Middle Name as part of Given Name as I noticed sa passport ng asawa ko, kasama yung MN nya with his GN. But when CIC addresses me in every correspondence esp my name on ecas and MyCIC, there is no mention of my MN.

May mga members din po dito na paalis pa lang or nakaalis na, most of them they never included their MN sa GN.

Whichever way you do it, it will not be a mistake :)

Hi po, on given name (s), I put my first name and middle name (mother's maiden last name), kasi yun po yung nasa passport ko. So you should input kung ano po ang nasa passport ninyo.

It's better to have one on with collar and taken naturally than to have those digitized, pasted shirts.
