Hey, This is bad yaar.

People have got their passports back in few days before. You may have to consider some things before requesting passport though, like
- Are you expecting an interview call?
- How much do you loose in all aspects like money, career etc etc if you decide not to request for passport
- Will you be able to take leave and submit passport in event of next PPR
- If your wife is a Canadian citizen then she will be able to meet you very easily in the US. That would be a huge plus point, I must say
However, it will be a personal decision

Have you ordered GCMS or done MP inquiry to know the status? It may present you with a clear picture.

I am a soft engg with 5+ experience in single company, now I got a Visa and am willing to go to US.. My manager asks me everyday about my passport..
Even if I get Canadian PR, I will work for my company for an year or so and my wife will stay with me in US..

This is really heart breaking that everyday comes and goes without any update..

I recently ordered GCMS Notes this week, dont know how much time will it take for them to reply..

i dont think u shud request it back..we have same timeline ..i was also thinking of requesting it back coz i wanted to spend my anniversary with my husband and i have TRV too.. but then there is a possibility that we might get it in a month or so other than requesting it back and then coming again for submitting..its goona waste our time as well as money

GCMS notes took 3 weeks for us. Considering your situation; it looks like it a good idea to ask for PP. That's the best way u can be with her. May be you can talk with your manager about it. once you get second ppr, you can come back to India and work from home (many companies offer that option)

Hi, i had submitted my passport in first week of Oct'12 and my status on web site is still showing "Application Received". Blue Dart has given confirmation on delivery of passport to CHC. As far as what was told to me by my lawyer there is no confirmation given by CHC when they either receive or send the passport post processing is done. You will have to wait for the return of ur prepaid envelope that u hav sent along with ur passport. There is as such no time specified as to how long CHC will keep ur passport, but processing time for New Delhi will not go beyond 8-10 months (from the time u hav received ur AOR) in case of Spouse sponsorship..

You are right about processing times according to cic website but i have observed many cases which received passports in 2-3 months as well.....so i am hoping it to come very soon. Also is it ok if i visit India and stay there for 3-4 months and come back? does it impact the final results?
