just wanted to know if your application (ECAS) was "in Process" status after you received AOR, or was it " Appl Received" ?

RCMP - Royal Canadian Mounted Police , which ensure you done have any police records or criminals records under you .....which is part of CIC validation process ....did you get RCMP request ? what is your status now ? when did you receive your AOR ? ...

You will get it on Email, if you used email id in your application form.
If there is a problem with your Email id, then they will use postal mail to send it your address.

Will CIC do background check in the home country of the applicant? We all (most of us) submit police certificate from home country. If one has never traveled to any other country (other than Cannda), what is cic doing as a part of background check if the RCMP report is already telling there is no reportable trace?

PCC = criminal check.
Background check (security) is more detailed and is done by the CSIS. They are basically looking to see if you are a threat to the country. No one knows exactly what's involved as no information is released on it.

vpnss973 :: I have not yet received the RCMP request from CIC? My status is same, waiting for MR. I applied Jan 11 and received AOR on Feb 20.


When should I receive RCMP? Does it come befor MR or after?

Hi New CEC appln ,
RCMP is not mandatory , it will be requested by CIC for certain applicants , depends on case to case ,not all , it varies depending on your application or immigration officer who would like to have RCMP checked before looking into your application , if RCMP is required ,it will come before MR.

In my case i did receive mail from CIC that they need RCMP for processing my application , however i did send them RCMP nearly 2 months , status still shows application received , i do feel they are working on Jan applicants now...there are chances that your case might get processed sooner too if they delay longer in processing...
