New CEC - Jan 2013 Applications

Got our CPR today in mail! Will try to land on Pearson Airport.. I am already in Toronto and don't want to go to Niagara Falls... Will see how it goes!
So my jurney started on January 24th, 2013 and more or less ended today - February 7, 2014.
Time to celebrate!

Hi there need help...

I been working in Canada for 5 yrs. but I just had my skill as a food service supervisor last January 2013 and my work permit expires January 2015..I check cic.gc.ca website for new CEC rule but still I cannot apply CEC even I work 12 mos. ( 1 yr. as of January 10 2014 )as food service supervisor because I cannot use my work experience as FSS (NOC 6311) to qualify for CEC...

thus anybody know any option, or do I need to wait for new rule.

pls. reply guys those who have been in my situation...

They just asked me to send my passport, is that all I have to send?

What about pictures or any other docs?

Hello everyone

I really need some advice it's been 4 Week since i have paid for my RRPF but i have still not received my medical. There is no indication of anything on the website about the processing. I have sent few emails and also made some calls but no answer. I tried to contact GCMS but as per them file has already been transferred to CPP-O. Can anyone suggest what can be done.

I'm not sure what you mean by having contacted GCMS. Have you applied for GCMS notes? If you have received an RPRF request, chances are your eligibility has been assessed. Sometimes the medical request comes later, but check to see that you have not missed the email. Your GCMS notes should show whether your eligibility has been assessed and whether a medical request has been sent out, so I suggest applying for your notes if you haven't already. Here's the link:

Seeing that you have landed, may I ask you a question? I went to the Service Canada today to change the social insurance number. The staff told me i can't until I get my PR card as my application was processed within canada by CPP-O.The immigration officer told me during landing i can go and change SIN with my COPR. Now I'm confused. Did you get you SIN changed already?

Hi green_dc, I went to Service Canada a day after landing with my passport and COPR only. They gave me the new SIN on a piece of paper right away and I received my SIN card exactly a week after.

You can apply for SIN with one of the following;
PR card,
COPR with counterfoil affixed to your passport,
COPR with a foreign passport from a visa exempt country.

Look under Permanent Resident of following link.

the staff was absolutely incorrect!
I went 2 days after my landing and got a new, permanent SIN without any problem.

Congrats to the lucky ones! I'm still waiting for PPR. Medicals are under review after 6 weeks of receipt by CIC. No idea when they'll clear my meds for i haven't gotten any request for additional tests.
