New born baby information

Hi All,

I want to inform CIC about my new born baby birth (born in Canada). Below snippet I got from CIC when I applied for the PR.

As I have to mail to CIC regarding child birth. Should I send the mail to CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry@cic.gc.ca or CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca

Please inform the Centralized Intake Office by e-mail at CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry@cic.gc.ca of any status changes in your application (birth or adoption of a child, marriage or common-law relationship, new occupation or employer, change of address, change of e-mail address, change of immigration representative, etc). Please include a letter identifying what the changes are and any relevant supporting documents. If your documents are not in English or French, send a notarized (certified) translation with a copy of the originals.

I composed and send the mail to CIC yesterday night (11:00PM EST) but haven't got any auto-reply from them. Is this normal or should I send the mail again in the day time ?

1. Why bother? The child is a Canadian, doesn't have to be included in the application. All you had to do was to send an updated IMM 5406 and a copy of the birth certificate to the file no.

Do I need to submit IMM 5406 ? In the checklist it states that :-

Completed, dated and signed by everyone in the following list:-

- principal applicant
- spouse
- each dependent child over the age of 18 years

If you look at your 5406 Section B, you have to list all your children, no matter what the residence.

· Four (4) recent photographs of your child according to specifications

· Updated IMM 0008 Generic Application Form for Canada for yourself and updated IMM 5406 Additional Family Information form for yourself and your spouse


Once you send all the above listed documents you will get MR for your child.

Crama, the OP's child is a Canadian citizen, you don't add a Canadian citizen to a PR application. However, the OP has to update the information on HIS "Additional Family information" form, and send the child's birth certificate.

Need your help… on urgent basis

I have been blessed with boy in jan 2022.
In feb i have received ready for visa mail which states
1. update any changes to family or any other info and
2. Send your passport for stamping
I have informed IRCC about my new born son in first week of feb 2022 along with birth certificate But no reply from ircc till today.
I got my COPR in march 2022 for me only(as main application with my wife and my daughter( both non accompanying) name under dependent list but my son name has not been written on that.
can ifly to canada with my current copr? As i have already informed about my new child to ircc through web form
Or what yo to do instead?
